During his 95% statements, Matthews said the guy had SEC Experience (or was a sec OC)? Today I understand he said it’s done. Just waiting on announcing. So putting both Matthews statements together, it not an NFL guy. Likely Chaney or Enos?

Matthews doesn’t know ****. Makes no sense at all to wait if they have their coach already and it’s agreed on.

Chaney just wants a raise and would have no reason to stick at UGA for a bowl game.

Enos could still be announced and coach just like Pruitt did if it were him.

None of the NFL guys are on teams with playoff hopes so why stick there? More beneficial to get them here and start recruiting.

Yea.. I didn't do deep dive but it was a terrible mistake, right? I don't recall hearing anything about it possibly being intentional ie motive involved.

I did agree with something said about Chaney. I doubt he was a big fan of playing Justin Fields when you have one of the best QB's in the country in Fromm. That was all Kirby's doing. Promising the top QB recruit that he was going to play his freshman season

If one puts ANY stock in Atlanta Vol and Matthews, it checks too many boxes. Chaney’s moved a lot (traveler), portly (Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and in a current position with a SEC rival and generally they don’t exit until after signing day (95% done). I’m not as enthused about Chaney as some because of his tendency to go passing tunnel vision in crunch time, but with a HC that emphasizes the running game he gets the numbers.

I find it hard to believe Matthews would say the hire is done so solidly without strong evidence to support it. He could have said “it appears this could already be done” etc with qualifiers that allow him room to back track but didn’t. Plus the VQ guys have seemed lost this whole search with tons of (is possible that, it could be, etc) in their statements
