I’m not for certain on this. But from what I’ve heard and gathered... i don’t think it’s just one person coming in and being like whoa this isn’t happening.

I think some more stuff was brought forward to fulmer and Pruitt about Hugh’s past. It’s not far fetched to think Houston Nutt could’ve called fulmer or that Fulmer spoke with Current OM coach and former assistant Matt Luke... they all still have a relationship. But either way something came up and i think Pruitt and fulmer agreed to just go in another direction.
This.

Could be why he’s not getting any of the open OC jobs as well.

Anyone else not understand when a Corner does the no fly zone taunt after a WR clearly drops a ball? Ramsey was toast and did nothing and WR dropped it. He goes crazy like he did something

Ramsey has been bad all year. Their DL isn’t as good anymore so he’s actually having to cover for more than 2 seconds and he’s gotten exposed all year.

The thing about it is... fulmer isn’t going to tell Pruitt flat out “No” on anything. Hell he gave Helton, basically a rookie OC a boat load of money, then as it seems the top two candidates of our OC search so far are The million dollar man Hugh freeze and the one of the hottest OCs in all of football, who just got a pay raise. If that doesn’t show that fulmer means business and we aren’t going bargain shopping anymore idk what else will.

Fulmer doesn’t want to win, He demands it.

This isn't really a comment on how I feel about either choice, but its interesting that UT seems insistent on flirting with candidates that have, at best, been an arm's length from three of the most prominent examples of major title IX disasters or otherwise just grotesquely horrible situations in college football in the last 10 years.

This is the major thing. Listen we all know how these programs work. Everyone knows what going on inside their own building. But the fact of the matter is the NcAA couldn’t pin anything on KB and he stayed employed at Baylor, and has taken two other jobs since then and has became one of the best OCs in CFB.

There is no reason to block a briles here unless you are just scared of the way the media will try to spin it.

The media can kiss my a$$. They do what they do according to their agenda which is click bait and ad revenue. Has absolutely nothing to do with actual journalism anymore. It's getting to the point where no one takes them seriously any more so I'm definitely not in favor of cowing down to them out of fear.

Nice.
I guessed that Pruittt never approached Freeze without at least mentioning to Fulmer first.
I figured it had to be something or someone who came up later. They agreed on the interview, then probably agreed that the hassle was building up more than the worth. My guess.

Never bought into the fractured relationship between them.

If i had to guess on a plot on how it went down...

Freeze and Pruitt both wanted each other... did some vetting everything checked out... freeze and Pruitt met/interviewed...freeze probably wanted a really friendly contract in regards to pay and easy to buy out and be a head coach again. While we were thinking about it some red flags approached... we started vetting a lot harder/started to get cold feet.... Hugh/Sexton feel it and begin to start leaking stories like FSU to up the pressure and UT until finally we move on.

How bout them Vols?

I think they found another closet and it contained more skeletons.

I don’t think it’s some sexual thing. I have heard it is connected to some schools in Memphis that Hugh played a part in doing some things to make prospective players be eligible. Ole miss quickly fired him and slapped itself with a ban to keep the ncaa from digging to deep into it.

Works for me. I wanted freeze but I didn't want to go ridiculous with another contract. I never expected him to be here more than a season or two.
Any extra wins would have been fun, but no point in paying out the nose for one or two seasons while roster was still down.

Yea same. I know for sure that there was serious interest both ways with freeze. That’s why i was so hell bent on getting it worked out and no one else really mattered because now we basically know that they didn’t. Because we have two totally new main candidates.

Exactly. Each may have known about and covered up some pretty sick stuff. Logic tells me there's a better chance of that with KB than with GS. The truth of the matter is many are willing to rationalize this with KB because you think he's an excellent coach whereas you didn't think that with GS. At least a few are honest enough to admit that. I can respect that. I don't agree with you, but I respect it.

But I'll add, I trust Fulmer and Pruitt to properly vet him and if they're comfortable with it I trust them.

The major difference in the two situations is Schiano was going to be the HC (setting the tone and culture of the program) rather than just a coordinator who is likely to stick around for a couple of years

Xs and Os. He has some baggage but not much in my opinion.

Don’t think he is a fit philosophically

I’m starting to change my whole football philosophy opinion in the last few years. Imo, There’s really no point in trying to have a complete shut down defense..because you have to play ball control and cut back your offense to do so...

I think it would work beautifully here because Pruitt is so good at defense that day we did have a more wide open offense...yea we may give up a few more points then he would like but we would get sacks, turnovers, and Defensive touchdowns too.
