Imo Briles is a great hire if you want exciting football and are happy winning 7-9 games a year

If you want to win a championship you need to hire an OC that doesn't use pace
All types of offenses have won championships. But rarely does a team win a championship without a dominant D. If we build that then the type of O we run is irrelevant IMO.

Quit worrying about tempo. If Pruitt thinks he can make it work then let him try

Imo he wants to compete right now. He hates to lose. He knows our roster is way behind UGA/Bama. We need 2- 3 yrs or more of recruiting at high level to catch up i So what do you do in the meantime? Find out ways to take away that advantage. He trusts Kiffins opinion on offense. He spent entire yr on staff with him. Maybe mixing some tempo and spread is what we need to catch up faster

We will hire a 2nd tier OC. I know that, just feeling it. We want go out and get the elite coach we need. It's so frustrating being a Vol fan. I will be so excited for our team when they get somebody that can coach them. Hasn't our administration office learned by now after hiring Dooley, Kiffin, Jones, and let don't forget Brady Hoke?

@BruinVol Yurcich is more your typical spread air raid throw it fifty times a game, Briles is more run pass balanced and a simplified blocking scheme for oline, the biggest difference is in the run game where Yurcich is a lot more sweeps and outside zone where Briles is more between the tackles with inside zone, traps and counters plant your foot and get downhill in a hurry.

I prefer briles Much more than yurcich

In fact I like him more than Freeze

I just don't see him winning championships at Tenn

Well. I saw the list that JB put out a day before it went out. Was told he’d be interviewing tomorrow and that was yesterday. Enos on Friday. I’m just cautious to post it because it did seem a little out of left field at first. It just seems everything being reported is a day behind. And again, I’m just relaying info from a text thread. I don’t know it to be gospel truth either. I’m just as skeptical as everyone else. 👊🏼
I just thought it was worded funny. All good

It's fair and I knew better than to specify a time. I get your point, but speedy receivers are the preference.
Speedy...quick...same animal in football. Antonio Brown ain’t faster than 4.6 and he’s usually aight.

I think that's the big question, if you can get a guy like Briles that could figure out a way to mesh that high octane offense with a Pruitt defense and be able to control the temple instead of having to go full throttle all the time that might be a thing no one could stop

Just because an offense has pace does not mean its 2012 Oregon, 9 seconds between snaps and no break for your defense.

Can there never be any nuance?
