Yeah, I never quite understood why that was allowed in court. But since that it was, I thought it carried more weight than someone writing a book or giving an interview.I'm not a lawyer, but my very layman's understanding was that "hearsay" is anything you're told outside of the court that is an attempt to use as evidence of something. McQueary claimed Tom Bradley told him at some point that it was Schiano. Bradley and Schiano both deny.
Whether it's legally hearsay is another question, but it certainly seems to be something based entirely on second-hand information (that the second-hand source disputes).
In my mind it was still enough to justify not hiring Schiano, but I can't possibly maintain that stance and also think it's okay to hire Briles no matter how innovative an offensive mind he is.
It would be hard to go with him if you turned down Freeze because of the backlash from the media over taking him and not Schiano. Are there any good coaches without baggage?
Not an insider but I feel like Yurcich is gaining some steam. I don't see Brown coming here. Could be wrong but I would think he'd rather stay put in a known environment and roll the dice to see what opens next year. I've read he was very very close to getting the Louisville job. I'm not the morality police but I can't see Briles in our program. I have a feeling the "unnamed SEC OC" will end up being McClendon. Just a hunch and we may never know. I can't see it being Chaney (although that would be awesome!) or Dooley. Off the top of my head I can't think of another SEC OC that it could possibly be besides MAYBE Gran at Kentucky. And that's only if he thinks Stoops is going to try and parlay his recent success. But that would be way out of left field.Ok so who are the candidates? I saw Yurcich mentioned some more.
The whole do you like white women bit. That plays to a stereotype that black men are after white women and also to the stereotype that white women are after wallets (jocks with pro options tend to be successful) and large penises (another stereotype).
I don't know that, that qualifies as racist or sexist but everyone's allowed their own opinion. The whole do you like white women bit. Much appreciated. I have some research to do now.Not an insider but I feel like Yurcich is gaining some steam. I don't see Brown coming here. Yeah, but if it's true they wouldn't take the good, SEC experienced, Bama beating Freeze because of his baggage how could they take him? Unless there was something else about the Freeze situation we don't know. But there is a difference as Briles is at least considered a good coach where schiano is not by most. Its evident after no one has still yet to hire him.
No problem. And I forgot the most important part. That list was from Brices tweet earlier today. It seemed to gain a lot of momentum as far as the search goes. I used it as an update and didn't really factor in that Brice may be full of ish and pulled it out of nowhere. Because lord knows that's been happening a lot....Much appreciated. I have some research to do now.
