Come on Bass

There is a thing called the internet QUOTE="Bassmaster_Vol, post: 16153918, member: 68469"]Fulmer has to sign the contract folks. Quit inventing problems that don’t exist[/QUOTE]

If you want to get technical he's a state employee getting paid by tax payer/doner money....

But how many ADs do you know interview OC's? I'll hang up and listen.

Not a high percentage (I guess), but...how many are previously national title winning head coaches?

I'm just reading between the lines of ATLVols posts from the weekend. I think he is implying that Fulmer is highly involved in the process. If Pruitt is good with it, I am too (assuming my hunch is correct).

I could see something like we interviewed Freeze and decided to hire him.

He signed a temporary contract barring him from being hired by another university, awaiting finalization of an investigation into his background.

That investigation has been ongoing.

That’s just taking time, maybe there were some hitches or whatever. Maybe not. Maybe it just takes time.

Any legs to the chip long rumor?

“Could be. Doug has ties obviously to Fulmer. I don't have a source telling me that. But I don't for a second believe that things are as quiet as it seems.” -Hubbs

“Hey Brent any truth that Vince Lombardi has reached out to Pruitt?”

Could he have contacted Pruitt through a third party? Yes I believe he could have. Did he? I don’t have anyone telling me he did.

His interest in the job is real. He knows Pruitt from their time together at SCLSU. Does he mesh with what Pruitt wants to do offensively? Some tell me he does. Others say Pruitt has concerns about Lombardi’s philosophy.

Thanks that’ll be $9.99

I think we talked to Freeze before Enos and decided we prefer Enos. Just my opinion reading the tea leaves. And our negotiations have been battling with Alabama (who wants to keep him) and Maryland (who wants to hire him).

I know we've talked a bit about tempo in the past couple days, and I'm kinda in a numbers mood, so here's a breakdown of some aforementioned candidates and the pace their teams play at.

Metric is represented by seconds per play:

Hugh Freeze
2014 Ole Miss 25.89 (84)
2015 Ole Miss - 22.77 (28)
2016 Ole Miss - 20.68 (5)
Chip Long
2016 Memphis - 22.00 (15)
2017 Notre Dame - 23.67 (29)
2018 Notre Dame - 23.81 (34)
Eliah Drinkwitz
2015 Boise State - 24.07 (48)
2016 NC State - 26.13 (80)
2017 NC State - 26.00 (69)
2018 NC State - 26.16 (72)
Dan Enos
2014 Central Mich. - 28.81 (121)
2015 Arkansas - 30.11 (123)
2016 Arkansas - 29.15 (118)
2017 Arkansas - 28.16 (103)
Steve Sarkisian
2014 Southern Cal - 24.65 (60)
2015 Southern Cal - 24.86 (66)
Bryan McClendon
2018 South Carolina - 22.27 (10)
For a bit of reference, Tennessee was at 29.33 (119) this year under Helton.

AV is pleased with the hire, but inferred some would not be... (I personally ruled out Freeze at this point because most everyone wants the sexy hire in Freeze)

to go along with what we assume pruitt wants in an OC..

add in that someone's contract is set to expire and he's reportedly not happy not coaching QB's,

Chaney makes way too much sense. Traveled around the SEC, big marshmello looking guy, some would not like the hire because its not freeze, plays exactly the style we assume pruitt wants to play...

Great info
