I’m one of the handful of losers that has read every page of both complete Gruden threads, and AV never once said Gruden was coming, no matter how much we all wanted him to say it...
There’s about five posters left on this whole website bringing solid information, and he’s one of them.

No, he did not. His detractors keep repeating that though. The most he ever said was that it was possible, but he never gave it high confidence. He was also accused of vouching for Beaver, but all he did was confirm that Beaver correctly identified a bartender at a private golf club.

And to take it a step further, he vouched that beaver was a real person and he wasn’t made up. They knew some of the same people. He believed Gruden was a possibility but never said yes or no. Always neutral. What I remember most is how gracious he was giving tickets away to families who hadn’t been to a game.
