Do we really need a SECT game?

The loss of their QB has nothing to do with giving up 300 yards rushing and 38 points by halftime. If this was Georgia or bama those numbers would be doubled. Ucf vs Bama final would be UCF 7 to Bama 55.
I don't disagree. But the #1 seed should do that. And we won't see these type of programs having much of a argument going forward

We need the SECT game because we don’t play enough conference games.

But I do think an 8 team playoff would eliminate any whining. This year there are 2 or 3 teams who will deserve a shot and won’t get it.

How about using this weekend for the first round of a 8 team playoff. UCF is not helping my argument but their QB went out last week and he's good.

I just got done saying that ....because liking at challenging teams of these last two championship games being played tonight is a joke.....none the less so are Clemson and nd schedules....just pathetic.....as much as I hate dogs and it's well freaking documented they deserve be in playoffs based off there schedule......

Say ut played bama 2in one season lost both times in close game and bama was undefeated ....the arguments made ut is top 4 team in country....bottom line go to 8 team playoff or atleast force these sorry ass conferences to start playing g much harder schedules....cause nd and Clemson schedules are freaking joke .....mizzou could have won either conference arguably....

Not really. Is UCF, Oklahoma, or even Ohio St better than Georgia? What's to say Georgia doesn't get in to playoffs and beats Clemson in first round? Whose to say they don't beat Bama in a rematch?

My point wasn't that Georgia was going to win, it was that we still need to have a conference champion who may not be the best team. Remember, Alabsma has won a NC without winning a conference championship. It's not only possible, its happened.

It should be 8 team with the top 8 in ranking. Make it top 10 for all 8 care. No special committee needed. But stupid gets involved and over complicates everything.

I’d be fine doing away with it, but only because we’re not going to sniff it for another thousand years.

4 super conferences, 4 team playoff. 8 teams would water it down. Do you really want to see ucf in the playoffs. I can't remember so many low tier conference teams in the top 25. Missouri would kill Utah State, Fresno state etc. What happened to strength of schedule.

Go back to the old days.
SEC to Sugar
Big10-pac12 to Rose
Big12....hell, bring back the SWC to Cotton

Let different polls vote on #1 and quit ruining the best team sport on the planet.

$$$$$ ruins everything!

Sorry......bitchy mood😇

Edit: no I’m not.....it’s the truth

They continue to find ways to make Notre Dame relevant when they're not. Comcast/NBC owns the exclusive ND tv contract which is why early in the season when ND beat what was actually a very mediocre overrated Michigan crew they jumped a country mile. Go back and take a look at where they were and where they jumped to and over by beating Michigan. ND escaped at home against Vandy this year. Just check out in the SEC who handled Vandy this season.

If were gonna have two divisions only way to name an SEC Champion unless you just say the best record is champion. The playoffs need to be expanded should be Champion of every power five conference and three wild cards. The teams this year would be Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State, Washington, Georgia, UCF, and Notre Dame.
My seedings 1- Alabama vs 8- UCF, 2-Clemson vs. 7-Washington, 3-Notre Dame vs 6-Ohio State, 4-Georgia vs. 5-Oklahoma
Winner of 1 and 6 plays winner of 4 and 5
Winner of 2 and 7 plays winner of 3 and 6
Championship

Let the games begin.

If any expansions occur, it should be a 6 team playoff with 1/2 getting a “bye.”
.
I actually like this idea. Take the 5 P5 conference champs and 1 wild card team. The wild card would be the highest ranked team who didn't automatically quality via the CC, and they would be the #6 seed.

I hate Notre Dame as much as anyone, but the schedule they faced is better than Clemson’s.

When a home game with Syracuse is the highest hurdle you have to climb and no one bothers to question it, you’re living right.

No. Do not add to the playoff. Would only hurt the best regular season in sports. Best case would be back to the BCS. Every. Game. Matters.

Take the 5 power conference winners and 3 at larges. How does that ruin the regular season? Winning your conference is still important and you have the potential of giving some Cinderella teams a shot. I think 8 is the perfect number.

I think it puts a priority on winning your conference and can allow some good regular season non conference games. A loss to a good team no longer kills your chances

Regarding Notre Dame, if I were the NCAA I'd tell them to **** or get off the pot and join a damn conference or they will not qualify for the playoffs. It's completely unfair that they get to play one less game than everyone else and still get in. I hope they get curb stomped in the playoffs.

I wish we could of skipped it in 2001. We'd already beat LSU and were the 2nd best team in the country...a week prior to that game

Except the NCAA has nothing to do with the playoff. It's controlled by the big money bowls, and ND is a big money draw.
