I thought the play calling yesterday was horrible. Some of the pass plays called were terrible, I'm not sure if they went for big gains because Lucas Taylor is a good athlete, or the lack of skill by the UAB defenders, or both. It looked like the same old same old.

I thought Creer looked great, I have always like him better than Fumbleitis. I hope next week we get to see more creer, and possibly more Stephens.

Creer can go the distance if he gets loose. He needs to play a little more especially get him the ball on a SCREEN which we never run worth a crap anymore and that use to be are bread and butter.

ummm, the key is to get the ball into the playmakers hands and let them make plays. That's what Taylor did. For my faults with the offense so far, I can not complain about that philosophy.

Perhaps you totally missed how HUGE Foster was yesterday. There is no doubt he's the best OVERALL back in a very talented running back corp.

Yeah he is the most complete back. But far from the most talented. He won't do much against florida, he doesn't hit the hole fast enough. We play foster alot against the turds we lose by at least two scores.

then don't expect much blocking for Crompton from Hardesty or Creer. THe only prayer UT has in this game is Foster and Hardesty both getting 20 carries minimum. What Creer gets after that is just icing.

You know it as well as i do, that if we can't run in this game it won't be worth watching by halftime. Hardesty is going to have to be a monster in this game. So is the o-line. More than twenty five pass attempts by crompton and this one's a laugher.

But Foster have to be right there as well. The way the two complement each other is amazing.

The Gators will be tired of having to hit Foster by his tenth carry or so and it will start to show if UT continues to give him carries.

Set the tone with hardesty and spell him with foster. If we don't run well right away our staff abandons it. We can't do that and expect to win this game. Yeah we need both of them to contribute. But hardesty is the best pure running back, so let him set the tone then let foster pound on them some more.

With the speed UF has UT will not be able to run wide on UF. We will have to attack the middle. Hardesty is the best at running between the tackles. He hits the hole hard and he doesn't dance around like Foster. Plus he has much better speed if he does break loose. I think we will see a good bit of both of them. Foster is good at blocking and catching the ball out of the backfield. I look forward to seeing Cooper opening some holes.

Huh? We won't have 20 yards in 10 carries against UF. This is UF, not UAB or UCLA. They have superior athletes on both sides of the ball. They have superior coaches. This one will get FUGLY.

He also runs into the back of a lineman and injures himself if there is no hole.

He is still our best shot. Foster has had three shots at the turds already. I believe you know how those turned out. We need speed on the field and alot of it. Speed and power blend=hardesty hurt or not.

Play calling did suck. Creer is a heck of back he was a better recruit coming out than Foster or Hardesty, so he has talent. Like i said, if we have any shot against UF, then we have to run 50 times minimum.

They have to commit to running the ball. I think that might be the hardest thing for this staff to do. Most of the time they seem too have no identity or clue what they do best. Its pretty obvious from the two teams we've played that running at least against them is the best thing we do. Its yet to be seen whether we can run against florida or not.

Creer is better than Foster. And no, I didn't decide that yesterday. Check my previous post's if you need evidence of my Creer Jonesin'. What is one thing that Foster shows you on the field that Creer couldn't do better and faster?(and you can't say weigh 240lbs. or pass block, we aren't arguing FB's)

I like Foster, but i also like to see Tennessee win against big time opponents.

How can you think that Foster gives us a leg up on competition when we see him make decent runs against lesser teams but almost always get lost when games get thick against more nobler foes(OR FUMBLE THE ####** BALL!!)?

You mean where he was the backup to Riggs with 4 carries, 2 carries in 2006, and then the bulk of carries in 2007. I hardly call that three shots...he had one big shot at best. Foster is plenty fast, just not as quick out of the gate.

If we want our best shot we play all three backs so that we're fresh, and hopefully by the end we're fresher than Florida's defense.

Pretty sure Foster can catch the ball pretty damn well too, haven't seen Creer or Hardesty recieve much.

I agree. So much so if I were CPF the last 5 mins before we took the field I'd call my o linemen around me. I'd remind them that skill players make the highlights but it's the big men on the line that own the line of scrimmage. I'd remind them why they are at UT, and that a whole state's pride is on the line, more than that a huge number of people that believe on you...you 5 men. I'd challege those 5 starters to own that line of scrimmage.

I don't think we can execute with the running game if they're loading the box and Crompton can't burn them on the passing game.

Simply put, unless we find balance we're hosed. I'm not saying deep pass after deep pass, but if they just load the line... that will shut down our running game.
