#2 is his quickest way to a HC position. IMO.

I think you would be right if it was a up and comer but Freeze is proven. All he needs is to hang out with the SEC's preferred team and win . Then eat at the local Birmingham restaurants with the SEC officials and replay denizen's. Then he's good to go and may get a few calls go his way in the future at his new job, sans playing Bama..

Yea, that's why I said #2.

Am I missing something here?

Well there is way more smoke from reputable sources on this than any other coaching search we have had the past 10 years. Makes me wonder if it really is going to happen? If so kudos to Pruitt for ponying up.

If Bailey commits, Freeze is coming. My opinion, of course, but it would be difficult (not impossible) to get a QB to commit without knowing who the OC is going to be. Maybe Bailey knows something...

More like this shows Pruitt isn't an idiot like our previous HC. Pruitt thinks he has a chance to land one of the best coaches on the offensive of the ball and isn't afraid to go after him. Something like this would have never happened with the previous HC.

Hopefully we get Freeze, even still, if we end up with Lindsey I don't think that's a bad choice either.
