Is Freeze so much better than Lindsey, Drinkwitz, McClendon, etc. that we’re willing to lower our standards and take a big PR hit in order to hire him? I’m not sure. That’s the discussion happening at UT right now and the discussion we should be having.
He’s a good coach. But is he THAT much better than any alternative?
My understanding is it was for players.
It boggles my mind how many people point to Freeze’s “recruiting” as a reason for why we ought to hire him.

How much a percentage of that population qualifies at Georgia Tech? Not that their current recruiting pool is any more MAGA.
You think kids choose who to play for based off their political views? I would choose based on who is a decent person, fun to play for, and can get me to the league.
I’m not trying to get political on this forum, but Trump is quite polarizing, especially for the minority and inner city communities. So normally I don’t think it would hurt a coach, but Leach hosted political rallies for him and things to that effect. He’s gone above and beyond.
I think it would be used against him. It might not matter now at WSU where he’s getting 3 star guys who are lucky to get a high PAC 12 offer, but if he has to recruit elite guys it would become a factor. Just my opinion.
How do we think his open Trump support would be used against him in inner city Atlanta?
Freeze didn't even get a show cause. Petrino at Louisville hired strippers/hookers for players and recruits. He basically killed his career. I would think if he had provided hookers for players/recruits, he sure as heck would have gotten a show cause.I've never seen it reported from a news outlet that he did. I can't imagine the media would neglect to blow that up if that was the case.
I think people want to believe that it was for players but I think it was for himself. Not to be mean but have you seen his wife.
Sure - but again, we’re talking about the margins. If, say, Freeze is 10% better than Lindsey in Pruitts mind - Let’s just say that’s the case - is 10% worth the PR hit?Biggest PR hit the program ever took was everything that happened on and off the field from 2008-present. Hiring Hugh Freeze is a drop in the bucket.
I don't think he'll be the guy but we aren't in a position to be real protective of the program's image. We're already a joke.

Civiqs ResultsBecause a white guy from Kingston knows exactly how minorities and inner city kids feel about our president.

Also, is it worth taking that hit for a guy with no assurances that he’s not simply using your job as a springboard for another job?
Georgia Tech is a 3 star haven also. Main reason I doubt the move.I’m not trying to get political on this forum, but Trump is quite polarizing, especially for the minority and inner city communities.
