The SEC didn't deny anything, they can't. He has 'done his penance' especially for a coordinator job. Sankey 'strongly advised' against hiring him and Saban said OK... It's more of an official black balling as I understand it..

Yeah because CJP did so much micromanaging during the game on offensive drives..... 😂

You might want to go watch some of the previous games. He barely got involved when the offense was on the field.

Pruitt has no desire to coach the defensive and offensive sides of the ball.

it will be released in a tweet with a small write up at the end of next week, you will hear all the candidates him and fulmer are interviewing in NYC next week but its all window dressing

Totally agree. In fact if you watched, there were times that Pruitt was coaching the defense (remember the white board?) while Helton was running the Offense. Anyone saying that CJP is micromanaging the O is flat out wrong, IMO.

This.. Other than an occasional WTF was that play, I believe he let Helton do his thing.

Didn't CJP say at one point after one of the earlier games that he probably needed to pay more attention to the offensive side of the ball? I can't remember which game it was that he said that though. I don't think he micromanaged it until later in the season.

Even still I think he would trust CCL more than Helton for some reason.

You are thinking far too logically to make decisions at UT. Our decision makers are people who drink too much caffeine, smoke filterless cigarettes, and pace the floor. So we will be left with the cheapest, easiest, most non logical hire possible.

Yeah that is basically what he said. Even later in the year I don’t think he really micromanaged anything. I think he suggested some things during certain situations but all head coaches do that. That’s not really micromanaging.

That's concerning if true. If Freeze is who CJP wants Fulmer needs to make it happen, AD has no business picking staff.

Oh they most certainly can deny any hire now. That took effect after the 2015 season. SEC Presidents gave that power to the Commissioner. And yes, by all accounts, it was invoked last year when Saban submitted Freeze for approval.

Freeze is not officially banned by the SEC, he's just in a position where the Commissioner is not going to approve him. Consider it a blackball, more than a ban per se. There is some serious heat between him and Sankey, so Sankey is just not going to let him back in anytime soon.

From what I understand from listening to Chris Low and some others, the SEC can’t really do anything to block Tennessee or anyone else from hiring Freeze at this point. All they could do it put restrictions on him in recruiting.

But, we don't know if it is true, we don't know if Pruitt actually wants him and we don't know if Fulmer is "picking" the staff.

Stop setting yourself up for disappointment. Lol.
