I've thought Lindsey all along even though there are others I like equally well. Beyond his HS history with CJP, Lindsey semi-ran Mahlzahn's O. It's Mahlzahn's baby. He was full OC at ASU in 2016 with good results and a play calling OC at Southern Miss for two seasons. He had strong passing numbers at USM. He developed Nick Mullens. The guy knows QB play. IMO, he's a strong hire as long as he leaves most of that Mahlzahn stuff back on the plains.

I hope Mason stays. He has shown he can't recruit at high level regardless of instate talent in his own city. Vandy night stumble into hiring someone thatcan recruit like Franklin again in another search. Shoop would definitely try to get that job

Interesting note on Lindsey is he used to visit with Holgerson every yr in off-season learning air raid principles that he used in high school with Hutson Mason. He has also learned under Monken and Probst. He has learned under some very good minds. I think the biggest issue this yr has been gus meddling. The loss of key running backs and Stidham just not making very good decisions or throws. I mean how many wide open WRs has he missed and how many bad drops have those WRs had on deep balls. We probably don't win if theyhit some of those

I'm sure we're gonna get a number of candidates raises before it's all settled. I don't think SC is gonna double McClendon's salary though. They're paying him peanuts now.

My SC friend said he thinks they are going to have to double his salary when their season is over. Crazy, but those are the rumors. 🤷‍♂️

You think he’s the type of offensive mind who can adjust to more run heavy? Not Gus Malzahn run heavy of course, but able to roll when the running game gets stronger. I feel Pruitt is fine with a good mix but not Air Raid...jmo

1. Oh the irony if we hire Mac. Our 3 most important coaches would be: a died-in-the-wool, full-blooded Bamer; a former Bulldog; and a former Gator. Could we handle that?

2. I don't want Freeze. I do believe he's a good coach, but I don't see how his style meshes with CJP's, therefore I don't think he really wants him. He wouldn't stay long anyway. And that baggage. For those of you constantly harping on how embarrassing we are (and I think for silly reasons), can you imagine the public trashing we'd get, from all sides, if fans excepted Freeze after what we did with Schiano?

3. There are no sure things when it comes to coaching hires, well maybe one. But especially not with coordinators. Therefore, nothing personal, but I don't put much stock in who fans think would be the best choice. But it is fun to follow.

4. I trust CJP and CPF to get this right. They know how important it is and are willing to spend the money. But again, no sure things.

Lindsey, Freeze, McElwain, and McClendon If I had to bet right now it will be one of those and that’s the likelihood i would put them in.

Swain said that the young guys on the team met with Pruitt. This is their team now. They are the leaders. That's exactly what we needed. That's why they're out there recruiting. This is a young team and we're going to see Pruitt's guys next year at almost every position.
Can’t wait until we finally look more talented than teams like South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky. Feels like those athletes haven’t been there in some time. Some young blood and good development and we’ll get there again.
