Truth. Interesting we haven't (I havent at least) seen the insiders come out of the woodwork yet. I am wondering if the Gruden fiasco sealed many fates?Pruitt should be able to make a decent hire. He has a minimum of 2 years before getting pushed out by the fanbase. Next year would have been harder IMO.
And OP. I honestly don't care if I've heard of the hire or not. I just want the hire to know what they are doing and get it done. It's not like I, you, or 99.7% of the people on this board have a clue who will be best.

The bold I disagree because Fulmer will give him more time IMO. The rest, I believe to be true. I'm comfortable in knowing that our AD is a former coach and knows football as well as our coach. I don't believe they will be fooled by an OC's lack of knowledge.
I think he means 2 more years (so 3 total). If he isn’t winning by year 3 that seat should be onThe bold I disagree because Fulmer will give him more time IMO. The rest, I believe to be true. What spot is the incoming OC going to feel? The G spot?
Neither CPF or CJP was involved in the Schiano cluster ****. They will make a business decision based on facts rather than emotion. They will also have a plan and act rather than react.
I'm more worried about D next year than Offense. DL needs some infusion and freshmen generally take awhile to "get there". I think OL will be better and with Callaway and Jennings back, along w/ DWA @ TE...most all our offense is back, so you'd hope offseason S/C in year 2 makes big strides towards expected results. Will it really matter that much next year? They could hire Steve Spurrier and he would still have to deal with:
--Soft, slow, weak and uninspired offensive linemen who haven't proven they could play dead in a Western
--A QB who struggles to read defenses and see blitzes, has a good arm but is unable to make plays with his feet
--No WR who can take the top off the defense and make the safeties get at least 5 yds off the LOS
--A collection of RBs who each has deficiencies in either size, speed, durability, pass catching, blocking, etc
--No depth
Just like Bob Shoop couldn't succeed with UT's dearth of talent on the defensive side of the ball, any OC will struggle to look successful at UT next year. Shoop was a defensive genius before he got here and this year at Miss State, his defense led the nation in TDs allowed.......playing in the SEC West! Because he had talent that he didn't have a UT.
There is no genius hire for Tennessee who will make this collection of players a juggernaut offense.
Ainge said today that it will most likely be a promotion of someone already on the staff. He made a good point about how by doing that it can keep the chemistry and coaching fairly consistent. By bringing in a new guy, you’d most likely have to bring his assistants as well, so then you have potentially a whole new version of coaching for an already confused team.My money is on us promoting someone already in the program OR hiring a high school coach. I don't see a big hire.
