You win.

Congrats you aren't smart enough to understand being a position coach at the power 5 level is a very important part of the resume piece for a cordinator at this level.

Enjoy your victory lap

And Urban Meyer was never a position coach at a Power 5 school before being hired as the Head Coach at Florida.

Utah was in the Mountain West when Urbs was there.

He was a Grad Assistant at Ohio St.

Granted, he was a WR coach at Norte Dame, but they aren't a P5 school...at least not in football. 😁

So, your point is moot. Being a position coach at a P5 school is not always an important part of a resume.

But hey, you're like my teenager...will argue anything.

ND might as well be a P5 team, and he said coordinator. Meyer was a HC and hired as a Hc so that’s kinda different

This is how I think Pruitt rebuilds with a power D and heavy rush. No different with UA when Saban arrived to deal with Meyer and others in the league. If the other team can not score they can not beat you. It may not be flashy on offense but 10-7 is a win all day. Plus yeah Freeze is great at spread and fast scoring offenses that light up the score board but if you do not have depth on the defensive side of the ball you will get just as many and probably more put up against you. Until UT builds up depth on D you want to control the clock and slow the game down. Not turn it into a race.
And be the same ole boring sh** we have watched for the last 5-10 years.

Its quite amusing to see posters talking about the reputation of Freeze and acting like we are above taking him. 10 years ago I would have agreed with them but after this decade of misery we have just witnessed I say go for it. What exactly do we have to lose at this point.... Our stellar reputation? Look at Bruce Pearl. Auburn snatched him up and didn't skip a beat. When is the last time you heard the media get down on him? You know why? Because they are winning and that **** right there solves everything.

Congrats!

You and Vandy are winners
Congrats on your winning philosophy that Sal Sunseri being an outstanding position coach qualified him to be an outstanding DC whilst Chad Morris spent the first 15 years of his career coaching HIGH SCHOOL (one step above JUCO, huh playa?)...one season at Tulsa before laying the offensive framework at Clemson that has helped establish them as a power...lol. Let that truth gently drip onto your simple sloping forehead...lol.

lol

Feldman tweeted what he did. I’ve learned those guys are right more often than not on some of these things. I hope it is freeze but I’m not going to get any hopes up

Feldman had more inroads with Butch because he believed that Feldman was an ally.

I don't think JP shares info with his own staff.

I'm not saying he's wrong but I don't think there's a national writer with good info from JP just yet...everyone is using second hand info, IMO.

These are what i for sure know:

-Freeze really wants the job.
-Pruitt has interest in hiring him.
-A couple “power players” are hesitant about his past and what SEC/NCAA/Media could say about it.
-early signing day is coming up and freeze isn’t busy and can be on the road recruiting ASAP, no buy out etc.

I feel comfortable enough in saying i believe Freeze will be on campus at some point this week and meet with who he needs to do to try and “prove he’s ready for a shot” per say.

He doesn't really come off like a guy that wants the spotlight. So that could be true

I suppose is not outside the range of what's possible and it certainly would change the tenor of hiring for the job.

Edit: so if Friend is passed over does he get the title of associate head coach?
