Jalen Hurts

Doesn’t matter what ya got at skill positions and/or QB, the OL makes or breaks an offense...period. We’re not there yet. Hurts is not the answer. He would help us somewhere but he’s not the missing piece that solves all problems. And, I’m pretty sure (as in 100% positive) all D1 football players powerlift or do some type of strength training all season. Why is he any different?

Because his numbers were inordinately high for a quarterback. If I can find them on the web I’ll post them shortly.

Him coming here is as likely as the o-line becoming really good nest year.....

The oline played terribly this past year but I think most are making an emotional evaluation of their improvement towards next year. It’s glaringly bad and I don’t think Pruitt sits on his hands like butch did and not let the same weakness show itself year over year. However I could be wrong guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I just don't think you can turn an o-line in one or two seasons considering where Pruitt is starting from.

I am getting a scary notion that Pruitt is fine with a mediocre or lower quarterback because he is trying to recreate the Alabama offenses from 5+ years ago. The quarterback only throws 10-15 times a game and the rest of the time they run it up the middle down your throat. That would explain why they try that so much now even though they lose 2-3 yards each time.

Bring back Dooley as OC and let him recruit the Oline. LOL

Imagine THAT! Hmmmm. I doubt Dooley would come down to that level; but one never knows. He has done Very Well At Dallas and Mizzou. I know you're Joking about the OL, but think about him running the offense. He has Progressed a bunch. Head Coach In Waiting for somewhere in the SEC. Lock.

It'd be one of the worst transfer moves I've ever seen.

Pruitt saw him for a good amount of time. If Pruitt lures him here, Pruitt shouldn’t be questioned. After all, no one at UT knows Hurts better than Pruitt.

Oh, I'd like to have him. I just can't imagine a guy with the options Hurts is going to have will want to jump into a rebuild.

Yeah. Honestly if I’m him, I go to FAU and finish things with Kiffin and just spend next year getting ready for the combine. Kiffin will Be his best chance to have any chance at getting drafted

Did 128 D1 Schools drop College Football as a sport on their campuses and limit his options to bama and UT?

Hurts fits into a spread offense. We might see him in a Vegastown: Starkvegas, that is, as Nicky Fitz's replacement under Joe Moorehead. The closest that you will see him at Neyland might by 10/12/19 when the cowbellers come to visit.

Pruitt will want to run a "Pro Style" offense in which Hurts has already been replaced. Unless CJP hires a Spread OC (Fedora anyone?), Hurts will be at Miss. State or somewhere in the Big XII running the spread RPO...

Just my 2 cents...

I can see your point but the worker in me won’t allow myself to not expect this oline to not improve from this day till kick off in 2019. Unrealistic? Possibly, but those guys will be older and took their lumps this year so hopefully that turns into production.

Jalen Hurts... Why would you leave Alabama for a rebuilding situation? Go find a Big 12 school, put up some stats and win a little.

Because he wants to play and not ride the bench and win championships. So in essence, he's got pride.

That could be true but we don't have the line to throw 30+ times

Zero chance he would play for us next year regardless. There is no way Saban would release him to play for another school especially a rival without sitting for a year. He could maybe go the hardship route like Justin Fields has done but that is tricky at best. Fields I think is going to get away with it because UGA does not want to touch a racial allegation with a 10 foot pole.

He'll have to announce very soon to get enrolled in school and participate in spring ball.

I'm quite confident that he has already given it some thought. Looked like he was thinking about it on Monday night during the game.

He’s a grad transfer. He can go wherever he wants. Saban can’t block a grad transfer.

Officially in the transfer portal.
Good...
I thought he was going to stay at Bama. No reason in the world to do that if he has any dreams of playing NFL ball at QB or any skill position.
Writing was probably on the wall after the NC game and he didn't start the 2nd half.

I don't think Saban has to release him with his status being a graduate transfer.

I wouldn't mind having him. I know a lot here wouldn't. The problem though is how would it work. Strout sitting another year. Mauer says he's coming to ball and well I just don't see JG being too happy about it so he would be looking to leave
