Which one of you guys is going to volunteer to camp out on Auburn’s site and give them some tips and pointers? They’re going to need a little help to fully appreciate the Bob Stoops job search experience...
When they think they are getting Stoops, and their AD announces Greg Schiano.

So Lindsey and Spavital are supposed to both be great QB coaches right? If so I think I would be ok with either. W.V. runs a spread offense but they do constintely run out of it and I dont know if you can hold Auburn against Lindsey because you know Gus has his hands wrapped so tightly around that offense that it could be a Shoop/butch kind of deal.

I think either of those hires could do very well. You cant discount what difference a great QB coach can do, just look at what Mullen has done with Franks.

I don’t think there was interest in Freeze on Pruitt’s end from a football perspective. Let alone going through the PR hit of trying to hire him.

After just listening to VQ podcast talk I got this vibe that it wouldn't fit what Pruitt wants to do. He doesn't want zone read no huddle. If you are going to run spread you still need power principles in run game to be an option. That's why I think Brice mentioning Spavital makes some sense if he entertains that route Spavital is a pro style spread that can run and pass not built on zone read.

That is why landing Morris and Wright and going to be huge pickups for UT
Undoubtedly, but they will still be freshman and as crappy as our line has been this year you just have to assume we still will be nowhere near good enough to pound the rock for 4 quarters. Hopefully one day just dont see it happening next year.

Rebuilds suck.

Just a thought here but if Helton gets the job at WKU, what are the chances he takes some of our offensive analysts with him? If he does, will any of them be missed?

I think Pruitt will go after an OC that he finds it difficult to scheme against. As a defensive guy, he will also get a ball control, low snap count per game type of OC.

Given that this offense will have 4 coordinators in 4 years, I believe a contingency on the OC hire will be to keep the schemes and lingo as similar as possible to what we are currently trying to implement. It will be interesting to see the pool of coaches given those parameters.

Also, just want to throw it out there that I believe we talked to McClendon from USC today.

Will Friend would be a bad choice IMO. If Pruitt was so unhappy with the offense and Helton he could have elevated Friend in the role during the season. If he thought it would have improved the offense he would have done it—Pruitt’s not a patient guy.

Pruitt wants to run an old-school smashmouth offense. We didn't have the personnel to run it this year, but he didn't want to change what he wants to do. He doesn't want a guy with a different offensive philosophy. He had that with Helton.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhh

Spavital would be a dream come true. No way it happens just from my BVS experience. I don't know what to think of Lindsey, but Auburn's offense this year was hot garbage

So what are the options?

But I think Pruitt understands that and will not be well liked for not going after the shiny objects on the recruiting trail like but the big uglies like Saban does. UA will sign 28 this year it looks like around 15 will play in the trenches where the game is won. Stars are nice and all and yes skilled positions look good but if you can not win it in the trenches it does not matter
