@Skizer41 I didn’t fuss at you. It was a running joke with Wallace during the coaching search last year. Something posted in here and he tweeted similar within a few minutes.

It was fun. If we can’t win games we can win searches
I know brother. I didn't take it personally haha. Honestly I didn't know that about Trey. I felt like he was a decent reporter. I tried to recall something that he botched and still couldn't think of anything though. At least he didn't go on ESPN and report a false story like another reporter haha.

The thing that bothers me most about Trey though is I feel like sometimes he acts like he's got info that he "can't" release. My opinion is then just don't say anything. That gets on my nerves. But I guess he needs to keep people interested in his radio show and that is one was to create a vibe that he's in the know.

All I know,,,,,,,, is that I'm not "in the know" haha.

Where exactly is it written that the opinions of a fan base are obligated to be anything except their opinions?

Serious question: what difference does it make? Isn't it the fanbase's prerogative to like or dislike whoever they want for whatever reason or none at all (not that there wasn't a boatload of reasons)?

I hate it when journalists, a profession that ostensibly values its role in checking elite power, act like us peons are just supposed to roll over and accept whatever grand wisdom we're spoon fed from on high. These ADs miss on coaching searches more often than they hit. They aren't above criticism, especially when they are pretty transparently doing the bidding of people that aren't even supposed to be involved in the decision.

Why would Friend not be able to coach offensive line and be the coordinator?

It’s pretty common for coordinators to have a position spot.

That seems rare. Most OC's coach QBs or RBs or something maybe. Oline is a whole different animal. That's usually the largest group and has its own identity and culture. I would want a coach solely focused on those guys performance. Not worrying about play calling.

Hear me out. He joined Saban at Bama in just Saban's second season there (see the parallel?). He and Pruitt coached there together for 4 years. In that time, he was OC for two Nattys and an SEC record of 28-4. Runs the system that Pruitt is trying to install (think of Alabama's teams with Greg Mcilroy and AJ McCarron).

I think he checks a lot of boxes that Pruitt will be looking for.

I agree and checks another important box. He can help a young inexperienced HC because he's been there and done that

I'd be very happy if we hired him
