Hey I like the kid. He is tough and has had to play under horrible circumstances. In some alternate reality where he has a great OL and coaching stability he may have been a great QB. That is just not the hand he was dealt and he is, for lack of a better term, damaged goods. He has been on the losing end of a lot of games and its in his head. That and his shortcomings seeing the field and lack of playmaking ability leaves us with what we have. At this point we need to part ways and a new offensive system needs to come with a new QB.
I think it has to do with more with the brand of offense each is perceived to run. And, I'll go on record as saying i'm against any OC that doesn't have a decent amount of experience calling plays at the P5, or NFL level. TN should not be a proving ground for upstart coaches. That means I'm against Osovet and Friend to some extent.
I recommend everyone take any and all info/speculation put out there during this search with a grain of salt but, for those who might be new here, here are a few posters who have proven to either pass along reliable info or actually have it:
@HankHill (like his opinions or not, he called his shot last offseason and was as reliable with info as anyone)
@LA Vol (Reliable, consistent info bringer)
@Ron Swanson (bringer of all things TOS)
@Atlanta VOL (I will bear hug this person, and maybe fight back a tear or two, if I ever meet them)
@matts42012 (oldie but a goodie)
@Freak (I mean...it's his site, so...)
@LWSVOL

And that latter version is what the Texas Techs and now Washington States are utilizing. The QB CAN run but the offense isn’t dependent on that.College RPO offenses are predicated on the threat of the QB running or else it is just a play action pass. The NFL does it less, but the RPO is built around the QB holding the ball, just like normal option football. The difference in the RPO is he can decide to throw a quick pass as well.

I just wanna hear Guys it's Hugh...And, please, try to friggin refrain from being a d**k to people who pass info along.
Seriously, don't be a gullible sap and take someone's word as the gospel truth. Appreciate their willingness to share and don't berate them for being wrong.
This is a fluid situation where people float names out for financial reasons (see Mike Gundy).
Everyone chill. We're effing coaching search veterans, let's show the nation we do it better than everyone else in the country.
True. A healthy Wentz can burn you with his legs every now and again. Trubisky has been deadly in the same offense. But passing and letting your running backs shoulder that load is the basic tenet.Yes the Eagles whole offense is built on RPOs too. A lot of times they read the safety or the nickel/OLB
