Lol what else is this place for?

Ok. He didn't improve this year. He is a terrible game manager(just because you don't throw ints doesn't mean you are a good game manager). He has no fire. He can get up from a hit, sure but what does he do when he gets up? You think yet another offensive system to learn will benefit him? Trust me, it won't. I will go out on a limb and say that we will move on from JG before game one next year.

Yea but he stopped having recruiting success late in his tenure at texas and that’s maybe the easiest place to recruit at. He will actually have to work at UNC to get guys.
He had top classes all the way to the end...usually full a year early. Just kept reinventing on schemes and teaching. Also started looking at stars more than intangibles...like Fulmer.

JG is an average QB at best, period. He has a horrible feel for the position, isn't very mobile or good in the pocket, and has a reasonably strong arm. You put him behind a really good OL and a nice running game, and he might do alright, but we don't have anything close to that. We need a playmaker at QB, and a playmaker JG is not.

It's either in his contract or it's not. None of us know. It's 100% speculation at this point. No use arguing over it, unless you just enjoy arguing.
Doing it all by myself...per usual? 😉

Doesn’t matter if it’s in a contract...bet it isn’t...but it’s never a factor because it’s never enforced. So it’s useless and prolly not on there.

The question is I think, is there a reasonable basis at this time for expecting a true QB competition this Fall?

He doesn't throw picks because he holds the ball until he is absolutely sure the receiver is open. Unfortunately that means he is either looking out the ear hole of his helmet when he tries to throw, or the receiver is already out of bounds on the sideline.

Yep. I hear you. But I couldn't disagree more.

Not going to sit here and say he's a Heisman candidate. But you're not giving him nearly enough credit.

No fire? Meh

We will have Mauer, Shrout, JG and I would believe a grad transfer(other than Hurts). In that scenario I could see a true competition. If somehow we convince Hurts, he is start day 1 and JG transfers and we are all very happy.

We need to with Maurer or Shrout. Or bring in a grad transfer, preferably Jalen Hurts.
