Offensive coordinator search thread

This go to canned response is absurd. The NCAA wouldn’t “open an office.”

He’s been punished and the case is closed. And he wouldn’t be a head coach here.

And it takes a lot of nerve to act all holier than everyone else by saying he doesn’t deserve a second chance.

Let me guess, you’ve never made one mistake in life?
Same thing as the Pearl situation.... Everybody deserves a second chance. That doesn't mean we're the ones who should roll the dice.

Except there is zero "rolling the dice with Freeze." His Offensive system is infallible. That was the only thing that was keeping Ole Miss in the "keep him" discussions.

I could hear all the other coaches telling kids moms "you don't want billy to go there and play under Freeze."
A lot of the mommas of the kids we recruit want to know that the staff will have their boys' backs and give second, third and fourth chances if necessary. Nobody wants to get Art Briles' back but the truth is that most people would want their son's coach to go to bat for their son in a he said-she said situation.

Freeze
Josh Nibblets
Freddie Kitchens
Dan Enos
Will Friend
These are the names mentioned by Simonton

Saban tried to hire him and the SEC said no.
Right after all that ordeal. Now that it has died down, SEC won't block it. Technically they couldn't stop it as the NCAA has already ruled on suspensions had he gotten hired last year... Sure there would be the initial no from the league office, but since the NCAA has cleared him, we could easily take SEC to court.

The dude was calling hookers on a state issued cell phone. There are obvious "I'm an idiot" issues to overcome.

If CJP wants to stay in-house, QC coach Joe Osovet would be a good choice. The guy knows offenses and could find the scheme that would work with our current personnel. He could then adapt it once CJP recruits the people he wants.

lol

Any system can be pretty damn good if you are able to execute it. Freeze recruited guys who fit his offense and he ran it extremely well there for a few years. We currently don't have guys to run his style of offense at the moment and would likely take a couple of recruiting cycles to get them. And that's provided Pruitt wants to go out on a limb (for him) and actually hire him.

Look... I don't necessarily have a big problem with it. But let's not act like the people that do are moralistic nutjobs. Freeze pulled an incredibly dumb move.
I agree.. .just wanted to throw a jab at our past idiots as well haha
