I posted earlier that I think the OC hire, assuming Helton goes, will reveal a lot about Pruitt. Will he circle the wagons with Friend or will he be open to changing things up by hiring a creative offensive mind and letting him run the offense? He's got a second chance to get it right.

Any chance he can hire Freeze or will SEC not allow that?

Yeah, I remembered his named but not up on some of these writers but I sure picked up the bias quickly. He tried to make CP look as bad as possible.

If we promote someone from within, I think that will be a very bad sign for the Pruitt tenure.

Could not agree more. Promoting friends over qualified / proven candidates has been the downfall of many a HC and will continue to be. Hopefully Pruitt has better judgement than that!

“Get it right” for him may be the reverse of what we assume. The conventional thinking is he needs to go outside his comfort zone. But I think he’d argue he did that with Helton and that’s why it didn’t work.
