To be honest, I’m not sure an outside, big splash guy is what we need.

Butch’s best staffs were predicated by guys he was comfortable with who were all on the same page. Our offense was bad because there were competing philosophies.

Go hire someone that will help Friend and Pruitt row in the same direction.

Maybe Fulmer can explain to Pruitt how sticking with buddies (Randy Sanders) and not conforming to the times (Allowing Clawson the time and space to run his offense) can derail your future. Pruitt needs to turn the offense over to someone like Freeze and just make the defense as filthy and mean as anything he’s ever had at Bama. Just my take. I’m sick of Neyland being another home game for Bama. Only a high scoring offense with a punishing defense will bring the fear back into that hallowed stadium.

Not seen this mentioned but what about the USCe OC?

I know we almost hired him as a position coach and his unit has been on fire lately. I'd be ok with him

That's what I meant with a previous post. Somebody that fits the system and talent we have access to typically. I just think it does need to be a proven name due to the need to assure recruits you have the real deal.

If Helton is gone next season, who will be the starting QB?

I can't imagine Guarantano making it with another QB coach and OC. He will be fried.

Does anyone think Harrison Bailey does commit to UT and is able to reclassify?

Chip Lindsey - Football Coach - Auburn University Athletics

After reading chips bio I question that he isn't doing anything but calling plays in gus system because his previous stops were much different systems and results. Although the 2017 auburn numbers were stout. So it prob would receive negative initial remarks but I'd reserve my judgement at first. Seems more QB friendly system until he got to the gus bus.

I'd prefer not be him just for perception but it wouldn't suprise me

Lindsey makes a lot of sense. SEC experience, went to Alabama with Pruitt and Friend, and probably needs to get off the sinking ship at Auburn.

My guess is Chip Lindsey would be High on list just for the reasons you mentioned earlier.

I posted earlier that I think the OC hire, assuming Helton goes, will reveal a lot about Pruitt. Will he circle the wagons with Friend or will he be open to changing things up by hiring a creative offensive mind and letting him run the offense? He's got a second chance to get it right.
