We need an OC that can shape a QB please. We need a good in the worse way.

Johnny Menziel, will Grier, geno smith, Brandon Sweden, Davis Webb, case keenum,

He’s awesome dude. I’m not even getting my hopes up for that Bc he will probably get a head coaching look somewhere but i would literally buy all of VN a virtual beer if that happened.

I used to think that style of offense was the way to go, if you’re talking about the traditional definition. Not anymore. It’s inefficient as hell.

Yep. Exactly what I was talking about. I think back to the Stoerner stumble and the offense we ran. Travis Henry took over behind that line and there was nothing Arkansas could do. Now, no one other than Ga and Stanford run a pure Pro style offense. I hope he adapts like his mentor Saban did.

^^This. Also, there just aren't that many pro-style only OCs left in college. There are plenty of different offenses that mix in elements from but and sticking to pro-style only would severely limit the candidate pool.

“Pro style” is just a word for a crappy boring offense ran by Jeff fisher, John gruden and mike mularky.

Since the night Kiffin bolted, I’ve read and anticipated that our administration would hire the best coach or our coach would hire the best assistant coach available only to be let down by the mediocre, milk toast, drab, boring buddy system. All of these great names come up for HCs, OCs and DCs yet we always end up with a watered down version of who we really want. But, like usual, hope springs eternal and I’m believing for the best.

I believe that one of the biggest challenges for a HC and a first time HC, is hiring a staff that fits. I feel most the staff he knew from coaching with them Helton was what he thought would work and didn't. Just my take.

Just to make sure I wasn't saying he wasn't one who could just that we needed one of those in the worse way that can develop QB's. I may have sounded like I was saying he wasn't it.

Good point.

I pray he doesn’t promote Friend because of that same belief. I’d rather him get Kitchens from Cleveland than promote friend.

I think Pruitt is going to have to cave a little on his “strictly pro style offense” mantra. Just look at what Bama has done with Hurts and Tua the past 3 years. It doesn’t have to be all the time but definitely having that element keeps defenses on their toes.

Perhaps, but that would not have helped the offense this season because UT doesn't currently have a DT QB, much less one of Tua's ir Hurts' caliber.
