Wonder what sort of wizardy Mullen used to turn a 4 win team into a 9 and likely 10 win team? I'll bet he found Old Robert Johnson's crossroads right before he left Mississippi and worked a deal.
Hes a delta bluesman. Preaching Blues (up jumped the Urban). And "AR-15 Blues". Great song
.
(To the tune of 32-20 Blues)
I send for my players, man if they don't come
I send for my players, man if they don't come
All the coppers in Gainesville sure can't help them none.

If Tay gets unruly thinks he don't want a.
If Tay gets unruly and things he don't want to
Take they Airsoft rifle and a frying pan or two.

They got a AR-15, the tip is orange and bright
They got a AR- Rifle, But that tip is orange and bright
Take a black paint marker and make that thing look right

Rent a car, shoot them pellets, gone a swing that kitchenware
Steal a card, plastic pellets, gone a swing that Teflon Pan
Just need a lecture on danger and conflict from cornball Dan.

Ah-oh, gators where you stay last night?
Uh-uh, we had dat "gators after dark" last night.
You missed our creepy costume party, tried to start a BB fight

Ah boys, now I can't take my rest.
Ah Tay Bang, just can't take my rest.
Now, my heart is hurtin, like Urban in my chest.

It's called D1 talent in the cupboard with no butchism.

The thing that helped Florida is areas that were weakest were where the staff is maybe the strongest.

QB and offensive line dramatically improved and Florida, for the most part, had a functional offense for the first time in years.

Was it some sort of juggernaut? No, but, it was good enough to win games.

They also did improve as the season went along. It’s a far cry from the team that got beat up physically on both sides of the ball by Kentucky.

Coaching was a big deal this year. I don’t know how many people get as much out of Franks as Mullen did

Bullcrap. These kids are getting “paid” to play football in exchange for a college education. You give 100% effort for the pay.

I worked for 37 years and had a lot of bosses over the years. I worked my ass off no matter who he or she was. And always tried to get better.

I might not have wanted to “buy in” but I did.

Snowflakes.
SHUT UP

I think one difference between UT and UF was that Mullen took over a team that had been in a decent S&C program under the previous coach whereas Pruitt took over a team that was very underdeveloped physically due to the lack of a consistent S&C program the previous two years. Mullen did a great job, but he didn't have to overcome the challenge of having players that couldn't physically match up in the SEC. I also agree on your point about Mullen's staff being strong where the team had weaknesses. I still think Franks is not a good QB, but Mullen managed him perfectly.

There are legendary stories that are hard to believe about our S&C program or lack there of under Mac.

Could very well have been worse than Tennessee and I’m not kidding.

Ahhh right

so they had talent and not coaching and won 4 games in the same division that we supposedly had no talent AND no coaching and won 4 games. Ok.

Tell yourself what ever you need to but talent or lack thereof isnt the only reason we won just 1 more game this year than last.
Nah, didn't you know. Florida won 4 games with basically the 84 Bears. We won 4 games with basically the Bad News Bears.

Butch should have been up for coach of the year last year.

Highly doubt it. Our players complained to Butch about Dave Lawson...the S&C coach Butch brought with him...so Butch fired him before the 2016 season. Word around the program was that the S&C program basically went to an honor system after that. Some guys never showed up for workouts and faced no consequences. We saw both teams on the field this season and there's no doubt that UF is a physically better team.

So bc you're "all man" and "bought in" flipping burgers, that means all other life situations are the same?
Especially the ones with arrogant, often dumb, young men?

Oh I get it, you wanted to brag about your tough bravado and use "snowflake" on a message board.

Bravo man!!!!
Thumbs up

Not sure why you believe that other than it covers for this coaching staff..See gator99 post

No. My last year I worked (2017) I made $425,000 in salary and bonus.

I retired at 62. You’re the snowflake.

The O line is garbage. The D line isn’t much better but they give better effort. The defensive backfield are mostly kids and the others are average. There is no downfield threat at wr but with the O line it doesn’t matter. CJP needs to take a serious look at the roster and figure out who needs to be invited to look elsewhere. There needs to be an infusion of SEC level talent and some serious offseason weight training. We got manhandled by Missouri and Vandy in the trenches. Let that sink in a little bit before responding. The loss of the two best O linemen didn’t help but even with those two we are no match for any SEC defense. I still want to vomit thinking about the last two games but we have a staff that knows how to recruit and that is what it is going to take. I’m just glad I live in Texas and don’t have to bombarded with it all day everyday. May all you find peace in this holiday season and remember to love your families and friends, send a care package to the troops or just say something nice to someone who looks like they may need it.

Riiiiiight and the current coaches have zero to do with these problems..

No. I have 2 degrees and none from UT.

You idiots miss the point.

No matter who the dam coach is you work your ass off for him. It’s not your job to pick the coach. Players on scholarship owe the university to give their all.

We have a generational difference in personal responsibly here.

The lack of attrition with such a huge change in style was.... Great, we thought, maybe. But looking back, it was, problematic. It kept some around, too many probably, who probably weren't great influences. Might have been a little different if there had been the typical purge with a new staff. Never know now.

Generational difference? I retired last year also. Only it didnt take me until 62 to do it.

So please spare your us ignorant self righteous how hard you worked in the old days bs. My guess is you would've collapsed at a well run D1 football practice back in the day.

Maybe I'm wrong and some really tough boss made you dig ditches for the 425k your entire career. And by gawd I'll bet you did with a smile on your face and song in your heart. CAUSE YOU AINT NO SNOWFLAKE!!

You probably would have collapsed too.

Sorry all you missed my primary point.

I don’t accept that certain players don’t “buy in” to the coach. Fine, then freaking leave and take your lame self somewhere else. You’re getting the equivalent of $40-50k a year to play football. Give your all for Tennessee. Or leave and don’t let the door hit you in the ass.

We got some new kids coming in that I think are going to be starters or in the 2 deep in the defensive backfield. We got a couple glaring weaknesses there. Those who enter spring and fall camps are going to have competition galore. If the new recruits coming in are willing to make the tackles and come up and put a hit on players then some who started this year may not be next.
