How many will not renew season tickets?

This rebuild will take longer than next year. Unless you want to over pay to watch rebuild year 2, you are better off staying home and/or scalping tickets way under face value..

I hated seeing Neyland half full, and I'm afraid another crap season this year will make season tickets sales go to an all time low next year. Sad times.
I’m keeping mine and hate missing any Vols game..... we will be back soon..... give Pruitt time

Just to be clear: you don't have to buy season tickets to be a UT fan or a fan of any team. There are thousands of people in the stands -- including many who buy tickets from season ticket holders -- who don't buy season tickets. There are probably hundreds of thousands of UT fans who either can't or choose not to attend in person at all.

I've never had season tickets and never will. I really only want to go to 1 or 2 games a year and have never had any trouble finding tickets --and always at less than face value. For example, until things improve, I expect we'll see UT do more of the 36-hour "flash sales" on tickets, as they did for the UK game at $30 each. Tickets for the cupcakes and even Mizzou were going on Vivid Seats for single digits this year.

Not faulting those who buy season tickets and make the donations required to get them. Glad that you do. It just doesn't make sense for me.

Hobby money vs transportation money

Two different lines on the budget.

Most hobbies are expensive. The blest get to make money at their hobbies.
You are still talking about other peoples money. Im sure their people on here that are not rich and make lots of sacrifices to afford season tickets, heck even the occasional game. So im not going to criticize anyone for the decisions they make with their money, and they can use whatever justification they want. To me, its just like the guy that started a thread calling fans at the mizzu game dumbas....when we wasnt there himself.

I'm hoping the Lady Vols ticket management team steps in and offers football tickets for two cans of green beans.

I stand by my advice. Go to as many games as you can. You never know when life circumstances will get in the way and you never get another opportunity to go to another game.

Sure I’m telling them how to spend their money, most don’t listen to good advice, I still don’t mind handing it out.

I agree that running a program is big business, but winning on the field is determined by way more factors than that. The past 3 coaches all had the opportunity to win big at UT. Kiffin turned away players that went else where and made a difference for them instead of us. Dooley got our offense going and then went and changed the defensive scheme at the worst time, costing him his job. Butch, well there are so many things to bring up on him, but it wasn’t because he was from a mid major it was because he didn’t grow as a coach in the SEC.

The HC at Vandy after the game said something like, we are going to a bowl, we are relevant. What a joke.

We’ll see if CJP can learn from this year. I think he forced the schemes on the players we have instead of identifying their strengths and weaknesses and game planning accordingly.

Trying to blame the fans for what got us here is just as silly as blaming the coaches for coming here when they were offered the job.

CJP needs to turn this around with the players he will have for next year and get this thing rolling quick. Being a bammer keeps his leash short compared to the length of an accomplished VFL.

Not a single Vol wants CJP to succeed because of who he is or what he has done. We all want him to succeed because he is leading the Vols.

My view is that CJP is going to run his system and recruit to it, and not proceed as you seem to suggest, by tailoring his system to fit his personnel. And I believe this is exactly what the AD was looking for when they hired him. Right, wrong, or indifferent, Pruitt is going to run his schemes the way he always has. So, his ability to recruit the personnel he needs will be super critical.

Can't blame anyone for not choosing to help subsidize coaching buy outs or overhyped, overpaid busts like Helton.

It's not like the powers that be have been going ultra cheap with these hires.

It's just that the powers that be have been incredibly stupid with their hires.

Personally chose to go the single game route after Kiffin and haven't regretted it from a time and financial stand point.

I have a family of six. If a lot of people don't renew their tickets, maybe the price will come down. I might could move up to terrace level!

My biggest concern is that by forcing the scheme he has exposed the weaknesses of the scheme due to not having the talent to properly execute.

After the WV game speaking on how our DBs kept getting beat CJP said he knew it would happen. My problem with that is how did he expect to win knowing our DBs would get burnt time after time.

If he hauls in the recruiting class we need even without making a bowl, then we may be fine anyway. If we don’t get the class needed due to not making a bowl because he forced a system rather than make the needed adjustments to win games, then we may be wasting our time.

We’ll see next year if more players buy in and put in the work needed to be successful. I expect we see a big improvement.

A budget is a finite use of resources.

I can take the “hobby” budget money from season tickets and move it to a “vacation” line item in my budget and take an extra couple vacations/year. Or add a long cruise instead of the hobby.

That’s the spirit.

When we are winning again then you can start back to going to games.

You know, when the weather is better.

Ahhh. You are one of those “I buy season tickets so I am a better fan than you are” kinda guy.

Gotcha.

I have a used Yugo to sell you as well, since you like paying for broken, overpriced products.

Nope, my circumstances do allow me to get season tickets. I’m not fortunate enough to attend many games. I’m the guy that wishes he could be at every game.

If I were to hit the lottery I don’t know exactly what I would do, but I can tell you where and when I would be 12 days in the fall of 2019.

What kind of fan are you? The kind that will be back when we are winning again?

Nope. I'm cancelling mine. I may buy some single game tickets, but I'm not going to continue paying thousands of dollars for a pathetic product

You assume that me deciding to no longer buy season tickets means that I am gone. That is a big assumption. I have made a financial decision to not pay the donations, tickets, hotels (I do not live close enough to drive there and back in one day) until I feel the product on the field matches the quality and excitement worth the cost.

Now, me watching the game on my 80” QLED TV in 4K with an open bar and electric theater seats in my theater with an island full of appetizers just feels like a better choice at this time.

So, I am not “gone”. I am adjusting my viewing choice. Once you are born into fandom, it is not something that you “leave”.

I made that decision before this season (even though this is the closet I've been since having season tickets). Still managed to make 3 games

The other guy is the fan police.

Trying to tell other fans how to behave. I just tell how I behave.

Mine is more of a testimony.

I do stand by the advice of going to every game you can, you never know when circumstances change and then you couldn’t go even if you wanted to because we started winning.

The problem is they will not LOWER the prices based upon the crappy product that is on the field. Who would keep going to a restaurant that continually serves bad food time and time again ? How could the restaurant survive if they raise prices while serving the same bad food ? That is the UT program in a nut shell.
Or the ridiculous 'donation' requirement
