So the question becomes, will the current coaches be able to, and have enough time to turn the corner? Do you think it would be fair to call this "year -1" instead of "year 0"?

I think this is Year 1. The coaches can earn as much time as they need by winning and recruiting well. CJP has high standards and wants to win, so he and Fulmer are on the same page. UT is giving him everything he needs and has requested. If he wants to make staff changes or have a higher recruiting budget, I'm sure he'll get it.

I asked myself this question over and over again as I left the stadium tonight. I really dont know. Pruitt with a much tougher hill to climb than I originally thought. Hes got to flip this roster quick. The OL and DL are where you win and lose games. That's where hes got to start, period.

I love barnes as much as the next guy but this is an awful way to defend a coach or player

The reason we're down is because we haven't hired coaches capable of coaching at this level. When a desperate AD bargain-hires guys like Derek Dooley and Butch Jones, neither of whom had the experience, the skills or the chops to recruit, develop and win at a program like UT, you get exactly what we have seen. Garbage in, garbage out. Unfortunately, we're still in the weeding garbage out phase.

There’s no reason you pay coaches more than you need to. We tried to throw big money and Gundy and he didn’t bite. Same thing with Strong (Even tho Counzo talked him out of it). We didnt go cheap at all with Helton, Shoop, etc either.
