Pruitt:
- Coached under Saban for 8 years total (2007 -2012) (2016, 2017)
- Coached under Fisher for 1 year total (2013)
- Defensive coordinator under Saban: 2 years
- Defensive coordinator under Fisher: 1 year
- Part of 3 National Titles at Alabama, 1 National Title at FSU

Smart:
- Coached under Saban for 11 years Total (2004, 2006 - 2015)
- Defensive coordinator under Saban: 8 years
- Part of 4 National Titles for Alabama

These two coaches have very very similar backgrounds. Do you think we will see results like Georgia once Pruitt gets rid of the "Butch Jones culture" and start recruiting at a high level?

No, Pruitt isn’t nearly as good a recruiter as Smart is. Pruitt doesn’t have the reputation in the coaching world that Smart had when he left. Smart gets maximum effort out of his kids. Pruitt just throws them under the bus if they aren’t top level talent wise

Smart walked into a stocked roster thanks to Richt and he built on it. Pruitt inherits a mid major roster thanks to B*tch. It will take time to recruit over everyone- he needs to show some results on the field to get elite recruits. If not, he won’t have the time to mirror Smart’s results

Yeah he’s a horrible recruiter, never won recruiter of the year or anything.

Results like Georgia? Not nearly as quickly as Smart, but maybe. In year 3, I think we can win 8 games. Understand that Smart walked into an absolutely loaded roster. We dont have anything remotely close to that.
People act like Richt left UGA a dumpster fire like Butch did here. It’s wild.

Is being honest is throwing players under the bus?

We had Shamburger dancing on the sideline with 2 minutes left. If that doesn’t tell you what kind of players are on the team idk what will. A preacher can go and preach the word of god and if nobody comes to the altar it’s not the preachers fault. It’s not Pruitts fault if he hyped this team up until he’s blue in the face, the damn kids didn’t want it. Plain and simple.

Bama recruits itself. If Pruitt was a great recruiter then he would have gotten some top talent to switch to us last class. Or maybe we would be sitting better than 15th for next year’s class

Pruitt hired as his coordinators two guys without coordinating experience at major level.

Smart hired two coordinators that had extensive experience...

Yeah, he can get players to switch in a few weeks time. Dude your logic is laughable. If you can’t see that Kirby walked into a ready made program vs. Pruitt who walked into the worst team in UT football history. Idk what to tell you.

He’s dealing with 18-22 yr olds. Sometimes you have to bend the truth to get them to play their best all season. We all know this team wasn’t good enough to beat Bama, but it was good enough to beat SCAR, Mizzou, and Vandy if the players gave full effort on and off the field. Pruitt calling them out on camera resulted in them giving piss poor effort and losing to all 3 of those teams.

This ticks me off because I feel like they should be hurting inside . I mean my word you lift and run all year then you act like it doesn’t matter . I can remember getting tears in my eyes when I played and we lost . Just embarrassed to be a vol right now .

You’re the one who pointed out that he was recruiter of the year. To me the top recruiter is the one that kids want to go play for more than anything else. If that guy switches to UT then they should also consider UT. Our facilities compare with the top programs in the country, we have a passionate fan base, a long history of winning, and we play in the SEC. So why would kids Pruitt had been recruiting so heavily not want to swap to UT when he did unless he wasn’t close to the main reason they were considering Alabama? Not even one flipped to follow the top recruiter in the country to his new gig.

Butch Jones is going to be probably " Part of a National Title" this season. Just means nothing. I always say this. Saban assistants are toxic to programs. There is a reason Saban is 16-0 against his former assistants. Watch Kirby choke next week against Saban yet again. We've tried two already so we know something about Saban assistants.

Pruitt is not the guy.

Unfortunately every team we played this year with the exception of the 3 cupcakes has more talent than we do. It hurts to say that but I believe it to be true. We’re slow at every position on defense. Our o line is small and weak. And our receivers can’t stretch the field and very rarely make the difficult catch.

He had a kid follow him from Alabama, but if you think he is going to flip kids to UT he’s been recruiting all year and they’ve been committed to Bama all year it just doesn’t work that way. Kirby didn’t work that way? You tell someone all year they need to come to Bama, then the next week they need to come to Knoxville? They may be young but they aren’t dumb. Pruitt can’t sprinkle pixie dust and kids start flocking here 2-3 weeks before national signing day.

Smart did not inherit the mess Pruitt has, we will be fine.

One thing Smart did was go out and hire the best o line coach in the nation and paid him like a coordinator. A good o line mades up for so many other deficiencies.

Oh O!!!

I am mad at CJP for 2 reasons,
1. Off-season was bad. Players did not buy-in to the program and CJP should have done more. CJP constantly calling our players out in the media did not help. Should have been handled internally.
2. Did not get to bowl. It is extremely important to become bowl eligible for all those extra bowl practices. Missed opportunity to work on ton of basics.

I expect us to go 8-4 next year. Just hope CJP finds a way to get out players to buy-in. I freaking hate to bring this comparison; but I think Mullen succeeded in his 1st year because he did get this right. It is a shocker to see UF this year after their 4-8 season. Before the season, I thought we will do better than them this year.

Absolutely true. He said at halftime of bama game, the only way we could slow them down is to have a couple of recruiting cycles. I agree with that, but you just told your team that they are no good
