I actually took it like they didn't give effort. I don't see how you could be in the game (or have a scholarship) if you quit practicing.

Our decline started after 2001. It was slow at first and then it snowballed. If you think about it, 2006 and 2007 were in many ways like 2015 and 2016. Ok years in the midst of awful ones.

At this point, I am ok with ok, if it means going to the SECCG.

Coastal Carolina coach did that this year. Cut 20 scholarship players. Weeded out quitters and trouble makers. They did not win much, but played tough and disciplined.

So the question is why did we see virtually no improvement over the season?

Well, we did and then we didn’t. Maybe a lot of these kids did tank the last two games. If so and it doesn’t change in the next couple of years, they will be giving away 50 yard line tickets.

Truth! What amazes me is how thick people are. That coaching search was a train wreck last year because no one wanted this job. Like usual we lied to ourselves about it and blamed it on the Haslams or others. But the plain truth is no one wanted this job and that’s why it was so hard.

Most of the names that have been mentioned seem spot on to me. Reid, Page, Sapp, Sham, Jones, Williams, Richmond, Labruzza, Brown, etc
