Tennessee is going NOWHERE with JG

You can't put the blame on a QB for this team. They could have big Ben back there and he'd get slaughtered with that weak a$$ line. Not one of them belong in the SEC.

Nowhere with JG, or any other player on this roster. And throw in Pruitt while you’re at it. The MAC players on our roster clearly have no desire to play for him and give any effort whatsoever. Start over.....yet again.
Why Pruitt? He took over from Jones. I'll go ahead and say it... Jones is the worst UT coach of my lifetime and yes that includes Dooley.

His scheme was a joke. He made good coaches around him bad (like Shoop). He was an extremely poor player manager/leader. His development was pathetic and led to many of the talented players he did sign having injuries. His recruiting... was pretty obviously overrated. Of all the decisions that have screwed up UT's football program... hiring Jones was the absolute worst.

He can throw and make good decisions with his arm, but his awareness is very poor. I've bee. Critical of him, but there is no doubt he has improved from year 1 to year 2. If he can make another leap he should be fine.

I'm finally on board with all the JG critics. Even though he has had one or two competent games his overall play is abysmal. He's slow, slower and slowest in almost everything he does. Tennessee must find another QB for next year. In my 50 years of watching Tennessee football I can honestly say I've rarely seen a QB as mediocre as JG. Hopefully the new kid out of Florida will honor his commitment and enroll early. Lord knows we need a mobile QB with quick feet and instincts.

Evaluators will always look at a guys arm strength and accuracy to determine how good of a prospect they are. But it's really all about decision making and moxie. And jg doesn't have it. He has absolutely terrible pocket awareness. The only TN qb I can think of with worse pocket presence was matt Simms. Jg never avoids pressure by stepping up into the pocket and he checks down almost everything. We've called more down the field passes than he's thrown. We have to hope that Pruitt goes with someone else next year

I think he can be really good. But he is inconsistent for sure. The oline is hampering him and has shaken his confidence

Yet without him we wouldnt have won an SEC game.
Ummm… you don't know that. His skill set is very limited. VERY limited. It isn't limited by his physical ability but his decision making and understanding of defenses. His improvement in that regard over this season has been minimal. Teams have figured him out. Vandy without great athletes... Mizzou without great athletes... had no trouble defending him. They watched his film and knew if they denied the 50/50 underthrown balls and then contained the check downs... they could get UT's O off the field. The coaches were limited by the things they knew he couldn't do.

Also, UT ran better in those games and the D played well. Any other time, you'd be talking about it being a team game... except when JG looks good then he was the reason UT won.

I'm sure you'll disagree... but throwing the ball up for grabs isn't a particularly difficult thing to do for a player with a college arm.

He needs to improve and this game made me question even more whether he has the ability to improve to a point of playing at an SEC level. I hope he does. The team and program needs him. But what he did today was awful.... it looked like a significant regression.

His inability to read D's and throw the ball on time had as much to do with the pressure he had all year as the OL stinking (and they did stink). By the end of the season, the pass pro had improved... JG's management of the O, reads, and timing had not.

You’re not a QB. You don’t know his reads.

Just to let you know I liked and unliked then re-liked your post because it's just that correct.

Thank God someone with cojones steps up and calls out Pruitt and staff! UK and Auburn were luck for JG. What I can't comprehend is why JG's not benched. For my 30 years as a VOL teams like UK, Vandy, Mizzou would be gimmes. this is how far the football program has fallen.

Where's Pruitt's Alabama like defense? This team is a joke, albeit a Jone's joke. Barely beat Charlotte? Throttled by GA, FLA, BAMA ....not even competitive .....If Pruitt and staff can't motive or coach in year one we have another Dooley to fire in 3 years.

I think Casey Clausen, Peyton, and many other wagon pullers were better runners and much greater qbs than JG.
