Yep. I’m thinking when the dust settles Wanya is our only 5 Star. I think we get a nice class though and I think Pruitt is building it the right way with a big focus on the lines of scrimmage. I’m going to guess that more of these guys develop into quality SEc players than they did with Butch.

We can debate the quality of the 2014/2015 classes, but in the end, the services thought they were quality players, hence, top 5 classes. That was, however, completely not the point to begin with. Someone stated that our class was likely to suffer if we lose to Vandy. I disagree, and cited Butch's 5-7 season before his first top 5 class, and that point remains. At least to my satisfaction, CJP has proven that he can win with less, and given that his freshman DB tandem is performing as well as they are, I believe he can evaluate and develop players.

I completely agree that a top 15 CJP class will return us to respectability faster than a Butch top 5 class.

Eh I'm mostly at the didn't develop them. When Pruitt comes out and says that the current players didn't even know how to practice, that cinched it for me.

The only reason those classes were top 5 were ceause of sheer numbers. Those 2 classes had 61 total commits. The average rating per recruit for those classes is .8949. Thats not top 5 level. So while it technically says those were top 5 classes, they really were not.

‘14 and ‘15 were very good classes on paper that didn’t fullly pan out for multiple reasons.

If you take the lowest 3-5 players off those classes they still finish very high.

14 and 15 classes were top heavy and we signed 30+ in both so that helped.

Attrition in both classes was well over 30%

Neither wound up having the lasting impact highly rated classes like that should have.

As for wright, so far I think his recruitment has gone exactly like everyone said it would. Quiet, low key kid. He has a good relationship with CBN and CJP, among others.

We'll be in it to the end. We've done a great job with Darnell. And he knows that.

Were top 5 on Rivals. They only score the best 20.

It really doesn’t help that much with rankings. Rivals only counts top 20, so we could have dropped lowest 9 and finished 5th still.

247 gives minimal points (less than 1) for lowest rated commits.

The rest, 100%.
