Doesnt change the fact when we played them. To try and spin the UK win as anything other than a signature win for first year HC Pruitt shows idiocy.

Kentucky doesn’t count as a signature win at Tennessee. Neither does Vanderbilt. Those are games Tennessee should win regardless of year, roster, record, or coach. Yes, I’m an elitist.

Auburn does count as one.

Weren't picked by very many to be the worst team in the SEC. Arkansas was. Two signature wins in "decades" comment was ridiculous. It's debatable whether or not they've gotten every last ounce out of this team. We do not have the toughest schedule in college football. Most likely A&M, LSU or maybe Mississippi State. All of these comments are homerism on your part.
Ok, I'll dial it back just a bit on point 1: Day after day leading up to season on Finebaum, SEC Nation, and other TV and radio outlets, I heard "expert" after "expert" pick us either 6th or 7th in the East, with some of them predicting we would go winless in the league again; I'm sure others heard a variation of this, as well.

Point 2: No other coach, since Fulmer, has had 2 signature wins IN THEIR FIRST 11 GAMES (which was my comment); and thus makes it DECADES since this has happened (not, "2 signature wins in decades"; big difference; two completely different statements, as I believe you know. Why the need to change what was originally posted? 🤔)

And yes, both Auburn AND Kentucky are signature wins; you can try to shuck and jive about beginning of season compared to end of season all that you want; but, it still will never change the fact that Auburn was ranked #23 at the time, and a 15(?) point favorite at home; and Kentucky was ranked #11 at the time, and a 5(?) point favorite, not to mention picked by you to beat us.

Point 3: True, it is debatable about whether or not Pruitt has gotten everything out of this group that he possibly can. All I can say is, I'll refer to Hubbs' comments, just tonight, about the progress and improvement of the players. However, you are right, it is debatable.

Point 4:
LSU, combined record of opp is 75-58.
Combined record of SEC opp is 30-28.

Ms St, combined record of opp is 77-54.
Combined record of SEC opp is 30-28.

A&M, combined record of opp is 86-45.
Combined record of SEC opp is 28-30.

Vols, combined record of opp is 83-47.
Combined record of SEC opp is 36-24.

Take your L, dude.

I think both of the big wins this year were bigger optically than they were technically. Both were ranked at the time of the wins so we can officially say in media and recruiting pitches that we beat two ranked SEC teams. Frankly, not folding like a cheap tent against two ranked teams is progress in and of itself for this team even if the teams were likely over-ranked. Last years team likely would have lost both of those games and maybe even the Charlotte game imo.

Also had 30+ recruits to get him there.

Those bottom 7 guys wouldn’t have changed the ranking or even the total 247 points very much. They weight by number of recruits. Using their class calculator, I trimmed that 2014 class to 25 cutting off the bottom 7 guys. The point total went from 276.32 to 275.28. We wouldn’t have even dropped a spot in the rankings.

My thought process is if you had told me before the season started we would have a shot at a bowl, I'd been happy.

If you told me before the season we'd beat two ranked teams I'm think wow we are going bowling and probably an 8-4 season.

After that debacle Saturday, I have no idea what to think...except that we have to trust Pruitt and his process.....

I mean he had what, a few weeks? Not surprising he couldn't close a bunch of 5 stars. From the sound of those posts though, they sound like they are trying to convince themselves of the things they are saying.
Hired December 7. National signing day was February 7. I guess 2 months could be a few weeks depending on your definition of 'few'.

This site acts so weird with the glitches. Whether it is typing or internet links breaking just odd. Only site with issues
I'm not aware of any current issues. If you want post in the help forum with detail of your issues and I'll try to help.

Are you one of the angry mob? Seriously, how long do you think this staff should have?
I think we'll know what we've got by national signing day in Feb 2020. Need to see a big step forward in 2020 season. I'd say if we're no better than 6 or 7 wins in 2020, we need to move on. If there is a 2021 under CJP, it needs to be double digit wins. I guess the short answer is 3-4 seasons depending on tangible progress in recruiting and wins.

I think that is reasonable. I think just about all of us would be concerned if we only win 6-7 in 2020. Another serious question; who did you want us to hire instead of Pruitt?

The point remains.
I guess. CJP opened himself to criticism over last year's signing day by chosing to stay with Bama and collect a $234,000 bonus drom the Tide for coaching the BCS championship game. Maybe if he'd given us 100% of his time he might have brought in a couple more guys who could've made the difference against SC and, if necessary, Vandy. I'm not seeing a top 10 class this cycle either. We need some positive momentum.

I was on the Kelly bandwagon because he was the big name that I thought we could buy. Other than beating USC, his return to cfb looks like a disaster. One poster in particular , not Beaver, brought some info that made me think Gruden was in play even though that was fool's gold. I would have been very happy with Patterson. If I knew we were going to hire a coordinator, I would've been good with Venables. I would've bought season tickets if they'd hired Leach.

Fair enough. Us losing to Missouri does not affect us nearly as much as losing to Vanderbilt and missing a bowl would imo. I haven't seen anything that indicates to me that we have lost any momentum after Saturday so I think we are still okay for the moment. I think a Top 10 class is still very possible.
