This is from a poster on VQ. I thought it was a great read. We have a real coach guys. Give him time.
Don't think we're strong enough on either side of the line to be competing with GA next year. JMO.Bingo. It’ll be a cycle of which team has an older team or which team has the best QB and things like that.
I’ll get flamed for this a bit but I think that starts next year. And I think we have the best QB.
I meant LOS. JG is a good QB, better than average. The problem though he's not mobile, at least enough to withstand the barrage coming after him within two seconds of snapping the ball. It will largely be the same linemen we saw this year. I suppose it could improve with more coaching but it would have to to be immensely better. I guess the freshmen could contribute but that's not usually a recipe for success. This is a LOS league and we are way behind in that department.Yea but sometimes weird things happen with QBs. I’m not even a big JG guy but he has tools. He could make a huge stride going into next year and be able to carry an offense.

He doesn't have to be mobile. He just needs to learn how to move in the pocket. Most of his sacks are because he did his drop steps and stood there. He has to know that he needs to move in the pocket or he's going to keep getting hit like this. No matter how good the line isI meant LOS. JG is a good QB, better than average. That's what I meant by mobile. I think that the rush avoidance thing is largely instinctual. I'm sure coaching can hep him improve on it a bit but I wonder if it's something you have or you don't for the most part.He doesn't have to be mobile. Man I didn’t even think it was 50/50. It was a bad spot but there was no way they could over turn that call. Couldn’t see the ball on replayThey had a 50/50 call to send us to a bowl game and didn't give it to us. Proves that either there's no bias to get more teams eligible for bowls or that the refs actually do hate UT. Game was at home, too.
