i think it's pretty evident the level of frustration Pruitt has, regarding this.

at the end of the day, i don't think he's blind to any of it. he's been talking about all these things all year, from leadership issues to just not having enough good players, or being consistent, or executing or even coaching mistakes they've made.

he's trying to put them in a position to have an opportunity to win. going for 4th downs, going for on sides kicks, going for 2 points etc....begging them to go make a play...go win the game...i'm going to give you opportunities............

we're just not there yet.

Too bad we can't be like Bama and Saban and sign as many guys as he did his first full class yr 1 before all the recruiting restrictions. He flipped that roster over immediately because the rules allowed him to at that point. If we could we would have had several other commits on board we could have took by now

I think it's a good sign he hasn't lost his head and completely thrown team under the bus. He has stayed the course and taking it on the chin a lot better than some predicted

Vandy game is critical. Lose and it can slow down recruiting momentum. Mizzu game feel goes away. It's going to be a battle. Anyone expecting a blowout will be disappointed and not realistic. Vandy will be pumped up as always. I have confidence Pruitt will have our bunch ready to match that intensity. I know one thing I would feed Jennings a lot in a game like this. He showed last yr in his rant how much hate he has for that team

there's two things i'm concerned about for the Vandy game.

1. their screen game with that RB they got. they're effective at those plays, so we'll have to be on our p's and q's to stop that consistently.
2. guys like Jennings trying to do too much and being too hyped, and still angrly from this week, and getting dump penalties....be emotional....let hte hate flow. just don't put the team in a bad spot with dumb penalties after the play.

Definitely easier to call plays and coach when you out talent 99% of the opponents you play.

yeah, between ESD last year in his first year and the new cap on classes, it makes these rebuilds a little more tricky than any of us want.

the other thing i'd add here, is that while Saban is an example of a year 1 class turn around, Kirby was an example of a year 2 turnaround b/c of how many kids that stayed.

while we don't have the same talent level GA did that first year, there are a select group of guys that would benefit us if they stayed and didn't try to leave early for the NFL or just transfer out.

if we have as many defections as some are half way predicting, while that helps with the roster turnover, it makes us really really young, and probably adds more time to the rebuild.

My biggest fear with Pruitt is that if he will ever himself, or let an OC be creative enough to field a very good/great offense. Power run offense if great but you can do that while still being creative.

Look at the rams like over 80% of their plays come out of 11 personnel. (3WR, 1TE, 1RB). They are ways to be physical and powerful while still being creative and making space for your playmakers. You can’t really have a clogged up offense anymore.

Good point. Critical to have a Callaway, Warrior, Bituli, Taylor return for Sr seasons. Be nice for Jennings but I wouldn't blame him. His stock won't rise as much as the others could based on measurables.

Agree. I think there are some coaching issues, but have faith they will be fixed.

It really comes down to getting a couple top 10 classes on campus and building this roster back up.

S&C will be huge this offseason. Need EEs.

I don’t really get why we’ve went away from our game plan can SC. Use your passing game as an extension of your run game. Throw a lot of screens and flats. At least to get our QBs in rythem and then you can even run kind of “Play action” off those.

IDT anyone can motivate this team but the players. The coaches tried to amp the players all week. They watched film and showed the guys what Mizzou was going to do and how to stop them. They talked to the SRs about leadership and finishing strong. Al Wilson spoke to the team before the game to fire them up. Pruitt stopped the Vol Walk to motivate the players to play hard for a loyal fanbase that never gave up on them. Former players were on the sidelines and behind the team, encouraging them. And the team came out flat and got flatter.

It comes down to want-to and pride. If enough players want to win, they'll win on Saturday. If they have enough pride, they'll refuse to lose to Vandy for the 5th time in 7 years. It either means something to them or it doesn't. We'll find out.

yep. there's some things missing from the arsenal for sure. feels like we maybe do somethings as band aids, but not really something you can rely on.

some of the timing type routes....throw to a spot, WR go to that spot....lol. get the ball out faster, and get in to 2nd and 3rd downs that aren't so predictable....and will allow you to do more of what you WANT to do.

1st and 10 isn't our down to run between the tackles. the way this oline operates, 2nd and 9+ just isn't a recipie for success.

i do wonder sometimes how much freedom Helton has? it's not like we've not seen Pruitt in his arse at times after some calls he doesn't like lol.

Makes you wonder what that conversation with Pruitt and Helton was before he was hired. Pruitt wanted only Helton for OC and UT ponied up. And now they don't always seem on the same page. The Vandy game will be interesting.
