I don’t believe in conspiracies per se unless it involves Bama or a team in the title hunt. All someone needs to do is go back and watch our 2004 SECG against Auburn when Auburn was undefeated, and the SEC was trying to get Auburn in the title game (which didn’t happen). I bitched back then about it. Pretty sure we had 2 long TD’s or runs called back. It was clear who the SEC wanted, and we should/could have won that game.
AND Auburn was running a pick play on offense all night in which they scored multiple times... RIGHT IN FRONT OF OFFICIALS!!!!

Sorry that game pissed me the hell off

People that are naive enough to think that the SEC doesn't try and influence games through officiating needs to watch Alabama play, anybody.

This. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but Birmingham is corrupt as can be, and the SEC office is no exception. Move it. Now. It’s past time.

I'd love to hear the rationale behind thinking the refs will want Vandy to win

If there is a conspiracy then the refs will want us to win. Lots more $ on the line if the Vols go bowling over Vandy.

But agree with this too.

Not to be a jerk, but targeting or not the guy fumbled and we recovered and returned it for a score. It wouldn't have mattered as far as win/loss, but I don't know why that was ignored.

I just hate the targeting rule. The low-hanging fruit in concussion prevention is to toss the guy who concusses Callaway after the whistle, not the guy who is making a legit football play (and doesn’t make primary contact with the head).

Also, couldn't/shouldn't the receiver have been called for offensive pass interference when he bumped Bryce Thompson on what otherwise likely would've been a pick six?

Yes. I think the rule allows for that because it was behind the LOS, but it’s a garbage rule.

In Pruitt I trust, but I don't like some of the gambles he takes sometimes. I think all of our onside kicks this year can be questioned. I didn't think it was neccessary to go for two when he wanted to early in the third, either. I like aggressive play, and maybe I'm just bitching because none of them have worked.... idk.

I like it. I cannot believe we haven’t recovered any of the onside kicks. Every one has been brilliantly executed up to the point where we inexplicably fail to recover it.

And I'll say this.... 2018 will be the last year in a long time we go into the Vandy's and Kentuckys and Mizzous hoping we can pull off an upset win.

Agree with this.

Pruitt will fix this problem

This team needs major help
Recruiting has got to be good this year as well as s/c

I’m tired of losing to old coaches, f****** will
Muschamp and in November.....

No bowl this year equals a failure imo
These guys need a bowl game and the extra practices and if they do get a bowl, a loss is unacceptable.

Next year is a very favorable schedule, patience is hard but it’s whats needed for now.

How can you say no bowl this year is a failure when the expectation coming in was 5-7 at best by most people? Jeez.

Bc we should be able to beat vandy. I do t think people thought we would be in position this late in the year for a bowl game. Now that they are they need to make one. I’ll admit, I didn’t think we would make one but now here’s our chance

As long as we have this OL we wont win many games. They all come back next year but i highly doubt they improve. We need an entire flip. Its simply embarrassing
weve also lost two our best OL this year. One to injury and the other to an clot. Kennedys return makes this OL better and furthermore, another year to some of the younger talent to mature in body and mind gives it a chance to improve.

Our games against Auburn and Kentucky shows they can be a solid unit and have success. We need consistency

People that are naive enough to think that the SEC doesn't try and influence games through officiating needs to watch Alabama play, anybody. By "assisting" in Vandy's win last night, they've assured another SEC bowl team. Had Vandy lost and the beat us next week, then that would have removed bo f2f h Vandy and Tennessee from receiving a bowl.

I think they have bias and some influence in benefit of the doubt of protection. One question, is Ole Miss banned from a bowl this year?

Life as a Tennessee fan

Preseason “We are going to be much better than everyone thinks”

Week 1 “Man we suck”

Week 2 “Alright, week 1 opponent is going to win it all. We are still going to shock people.”

Week 3 “ See y’all were worried about nothing.”

Week 4 “Why can’t we beat Florida??? We suck so bad. Going 3-9.”

Week 5 “Whoa. Yeah we lost to Georgia but Pruitt showing improvement. We aren’t THAT bad.”

Week 6 “BOOM!!!! We have a coach. Next year we are going to run this thing.”

Week 7 “Why do we play them every year? We suck. This isn’t a rivalry.”

Week 8 “ Will Muschamp? Why can’t we beat him? He owns us and we still suck.”

Week 9 “Freaking Charlotte is the 13th grade and we can’t move the football. Is it basketball season yet?”

Week 10 “BOOM!!!! We are going to be back sooner than later. 2020 National Championship run coming up.”

Week 11 “Annnnnnnnnnd we suck again”

3 plays changed the game yesterday.

Down 19-10 pick leads to 26-10 instead of 19-17 or 19-13.

Abernathy missed tackle on 3rd down and long leads to TD instead of us getting ball back.

CFA fumble for TD.

Without those game is within reach and doesn't get out of hand

I told people this matchup wasn't good. Mizzu should be top 10 if not for 2 plays.

We will beat Vandy in a tough one but we will win

Don't know what gate you enter, but I am virtually frisked every game upon entry at Gate 8. Whoever thinks that keeping weapons out of the hands of people who are defensive minded only, is an idiot. I don't drink and think that the only deterrent to idiots with weapons is capable, responsible people with weapons. This issue, coupled with the continuously downgraded Neyland experience, is enough to make me seriously consider not renewing my season tickets that I have held for 43 years.

I enter gate 24 that brings you in around section Z14, and there’s never more than 5 people in line and never been frisked. They only somewhat glance in your bag if you have one.

Right on. The game within the game. Not, but the bottom line is, they made the plays and we did not.

Why are August expectations relevant in November?

It would be a failure to not make a bowl at this point. Because the only thing standing in the way is Vanderbilt.

Win the damn game.

Yeah this scenario was discussed a lot in the pre season.

I think this staff has already done more in year 1 than Butch and bsia.

But at the end of the day.... We really need to win this game.
