I just believe we should be able to line up against teams like mizzou and beat them to a pulp. Our overall resources and team talent should be enough to whip these types of programs. I just don’t get it, they are a joke of a program imo
Nah, Mizzou is just a better team than us this year. We'll get em in the coming years.I think the Mizzous of the world do what they do partly because they aren't rivals of anyone. UT's players don't care one way or the other about Mizzou so they just have a hard time getting up for games like that. Conversely, everyone who plays us still sees us as a "blue blood" that they want to get a piece of. Even if we completely stink, they see a game at Neyland Stadium as the super bowl and they want to come in there and stick it to us. We get people's best game, even when we're down.
Plus, I doubt Mizzou is much of a pressure cooker for Odom or his players. They want to do well, but they don't have the moment-to-momentum pressure our coaches and players do to narrow the gap with Alabama and Georgia. I think they are content to play those teams close and maybe pick one off every now and then, but they don't envision themselves as equals. It's different for us, and I think that pressure weighs on our team and coaches.
I think these are some of the reasons why Tennessee (or programs like Tennessee) rarely overachieve, and are much more likely to underachieve.
Just is what it is.
I think if JG cant go next week we are screwed.. But the only thing that worries me as far as next season goes is we will have a back up with zero game minutes. Unless our o line is greatly improved I can see that being a huge problem because just like this season theres only so many hits JG can take before he gets put out.I thought it was a joke, but I took it serious as to who the backup should be. Chryst sucks i’d Rather see what Shrout can do if JG can’t go next week.
He’s currently 7-3 at Duke....been to the ACC title game...AT DUKE...and was a 10 game winner at Ole Miss. I’m sure with our tradition he’s winning enough games a year he’s not getting fired. 8-9 wins would probably be our floor right nowHe was in his first or second year at Duke and didn’t want to mess up the process. But his ceiling as a head coach would’ve got him fired here a while ago. Because, UT.
I’m not so sure. Probably could’ve recruit pretty well here. He’s one of the best minds in all of football. With more talent he’d do well. He just doesn’t have the fire in him to take up a big time job anymore. Duke is comfortable and he likes that.He was in his first or second year at Duke and didn’t want to mess up the process.
