Curious what makes you say that? Instate recruiting is important to Pruitt and Alabama and Clemson are working on Ealy, an impact RB.
It's been communicated amongst everyone in the recruiting forum back in the summer. Washington chose a school he never visited. Knox chose arky when osu @ UT said no. Wilhoite was never really considered by this staff. And ealy is from miss and he visited ole miss campus 5+ times

Never say never in recruiting. But again, I was only making a pure guess as to who these unnamed blue-chips could be. I tried to preface that in my post - should've made it clearer. My fault.

So apparently John Adams, eternal negavol, was the only one on KNS' staff to pick us to win vs. Mizzou. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing but it is surprising coming from him.

It has been said those guys rankings were pretty off. I think Pruitt liked Knox but had others higher on the board. He does want a lot of the TN '20 guys but a lot of the '19 guys were not a priority for him.

I know the fish aren’t in the boat yet, but when you see the WR’s stirring currently around the bait, it’s 100% clear, not fully pursuing any of the instate WR’s (Willhoite, Nash, Know, Sheffield, etc.) was the right move

Purely guessing but guys I would think could be those blue chippers committed elsewhere that don't want their name out could be

Christopher Hinton DT Michigan commit from Norcross GA

Brandon Smith LB Penn State from VA

Zach Pickens DL S CArolina commit and native - curious if this is one as we were involved there and now have some Bryce Thompson success tonpitch and we love Carolina recruits

There was another regional kid on 247 composite top 50 that I let slip my mind between flipping through to write this. Will have to look later

We don't match up well. We will lose this one. 50/50 vs vandy
If we lose tomorrow that Vanderbilt game next week is going to be pressure packed. Would suck donkey cods to finish 5-7 with a loss to Vanderbilt. Hopefully we can get it out of the way tomorrow.

I just dont think it's the instate guys, seems like we'd have locked them up from the beginning if they really wanted in and we wanted them.
I think there was a lack of familiarity with some in state guys, too. The staff hadn’t seen a lot of them in person before and wanted to before offering a scholarship. Some guys seemed to take offense at that. Of course, some just plain weren’t priorities either. But the camp schedule thing supposedly hurt us some with guys like Logue.

Luckily, we got a lot of underclassmen on campus last spring/summer as well. Shouldn’t be much of a problem moving forward.

Weekend visits

While the majority of games in the SEC this weekend will pit conference teams against non-Power Five opponents, Tennessee has an in-conference tilt with Missouri on the schedule. The list of visitors going to Neyland to see this game is an intriguing one. It features a pair of prospects in five-star defensive end

Nolan Smith
and Rivals100 defensive end
Travon Walker
, who are currently committed to Georgia.

Tennessee commitments

Savion Williams
and
Chris Akporoghene
will also be on their official visits this weekend, which will give the Volunteers additional brand ambassadors as they look to catch the eye of their non-committed visitors. The unofficial visitors list is still developing, but a couple five-stars rumored as possible attendees are offensive tackle
Darnell Wright
and Auburn wide receiver commit
George Pickens
.

SIAP, David Ubben/The Athletic posted his analysis for the game an hour ago. Vols 30-27.

Best non-recruiting related sports media in the business IMO. Across the board in all sports and teams they dig and give you meat instead of milk. The occasional interaction with the writers is good stuff as well.

Booth was the other guy I was thinking about. Zach pickens and booth make most sense in terms of guys that wouldn't want their name out until they felt more than mild interest. We recruited them before and both in strong recruiting areas

Smart pick because if we win it's going to be by us scoring in that range. We need to hold to FGs on defense because they will move the ball. We need to sling the ball. Mizzu has a bad pass defens and gives up more big plays of 20 plus in sec than most
