They were dirty as hell. Gallatin was always good but at home they were unbeatable. Refs cheated everyone. We played a close game. We were down late in the game. 4th and less than a yard we run QB sneak. QB gets two yards. One refs spots it first down another comes running in late and moves the ball back like three yards. We lost.

They made us dress on their gym floor. Not even a locker room. We destroyed that gym floor with our cleats.

This kind of stuff happens all the time, and I'll never understand what possesses people to do it.

I remember a little league baseball game where a mom came over to an umpire after the game and said something about, "I know you only did that because of so and so." I don't even know what she was complaining about or if she was right, but it was my earliest memory of that kind of situation.

It sticks with kids in a bad way.

Sorry guys... I gave it 4 1/2 episodes. I just can’t get into “Parks and Recreation.” I’m forcing myself to laugh because I feel like I’m supposed to, and then I cry myself to sleep because of the fraud I’ve become

Same. We're stuck somewhere in the middle of season one. It's got me wondering how in the world it made it to season two. Almost entirely unfunny.

Go immediately to season two...

Portland played Franklin KY in 95 and lost by a touchdown, i believe, had 3 40 plus yard touchdowns called back. On one 60+ yarder a flag flew for holding at the line of scrimmage as the tailback crossed the goal line. I was at the opposite endzone watching it take place.

Are you from Portland? I am originally and spent my first 18 years there.

It’s sickening how we let South Carolina off the hook. We should be winners of 4/5 with 3 SEC wins, two wins vs. ranked opponents and only a loss to Bama.

Dang
Mushdumps day is coming..count on it. His days of lucking into wins against us are over once JP has real football players..JP almost beat him this year with a hand tied behind his back, a sprained ankle, a bum knee, and one his eyes missing and his ear tore off..😏

History will show that Auburn and Kentucky were overrated this season, but these games remain huge in laying the foundation of this rebuild.

I’m really encouraged by what I’ve seen from the development of this team. Can’t wait to see what we bring against Mizzou. That’s another interesting benchmark
How do I feel about the Mizzou matchup..hmm? I have no idea how this game will go at this point...It feels like a really bad matchup..but..

Not really ‘inside info’. Good friend of mine lived next to George Kidd a while back and had a few connections with UT. Like i said, not really something none of us knew, but makes me feel good about our staff and their confidence about the coming years.

Maryville...JJ’s Jr season at Blackman. JJ was shredding the defense. Drove down to the two yard line. And count’em 5 straight penalties for WR lined up past LOS. Each time he asked side judge if he was good. Each time he signaled good then proceeds to throw a flag. Maryville fans chanting “you can’t do that” every flag thrown. Now Blackman has it first and goal from the 27. JJ runs it into the end zone. No flag. Blackman fans chanting “he just did that”. Blackman had well over 100 yards of penalties at halftime.

I’d love to beat Missouri and get it over with this week because I don’t love the idea of some of the players on this team being in a do or die situation for bowl eligibility in Nashville.
You mean the players that don't really love playing football enough to care if they make a bowl or not? 😏

I can't wait till those country club goof offs are all gone. I feel apprehension about that as well. Doing the work for a bowl would mess up their holiday party lineup.

Well I think it’s the exact opposite. I think we have a lot of guys who freeze up when the stakes are higher. Not because they don’t care. But because they care too much.

Wish I could read the rest of this. Their tease worked by making me click and read the intro

It's a really good read. Kid is definitely going to succeed in life. Already the CEO of a multi million dollar pine straw business called Metro Straw. I've stated it in another thread or 2, but the Athletic is fantastic if you enjoy sports journalism and don't mind paying a few bucks per month for it.

Still pissed about the Vandy game in 2016 in Nashville. All we had to do was finish that game and we would have gone to the Sugar Bowl. Definitely would love to get eligible this weekend then just go out, play loose and pummel Vandy in 2 weeks.

Also if you get the app, sign up for the trial, and then cancel, they'll offer you a pretty good discount. I had the trial and really enjoyed it, but thought the cost was a little much. The offered it to me for something like $40 a year and I took that.

Butch did something to ruin the team's psyche. No excuse to lose that game, even with a bad gameplan. He probably told them that losing the game would haunt them for the rest of their lives and then went and threw up in a trash can in front of them or something.

I remember they showed him talking to the team before the UGA game in 2015. He was ridiculously wound up and nervous looking and sounding.
