That is because you follow Tennessee football. Put yourself in someone's place who doesn't follow Tennessee football. Hopefully, one day, Tennessee will garner a national spotlight again and be aired on numerous media venues. Sometimes, a smiling face generates a positive reaction. Sometimes, a stoic demeanor generates a negative reaction. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of CJP. I want everyone on the CJP bandwagon.

I'd be fine with getting rid of the show. Most of us record the games, and there are highlights available online almost immediately. Give the guy some rest and let him get back to what matters.

I was honestly wondering what would happen if he corrected Kesling on the pronunciation of names.... There is obviously no "h" in Snell, and it's not "Jerantano." I know that may seem picky, but it comes across as low-rent when the "voice of our team" won't learn to say players' names correctly.

They can't get rid of the show. The revenue from the show is what helps pay for CJP and Tennessee Athletics in general. The show is the venue for advertisements. It is part of the economics of college sports.

Sunday morning coaches shows served a purpose when not all games were on TV, and we didn't have the immediate media barrage that we have now. We can all watch our own highlights, or watch the whole game on demand, anytime we want. And there are a million articles about the postgame press conference, including live streams and media folks live-tweeting it.

Simply no need to make a coach get up that time of the morning on Sunday and sit through one of these shows. Would be better if they just came out with a midweek show to recap the game and show some behind-the-scenes stories for an insider's look that fans would enjoy, without making the coach sit through that crap.

Yes, but UT can sell advertising and monetize the TV program. It’s not going anywhere as long as that is the case.

DVR is a wonderful thing! Start watching about 18 after and you’re Good to go.
And CJP did somewhat crack a smile when addressing his “coaching” of Osborne after the INT.
I wonder if part of the Nike deal is that he has to wear their apparel during the show.

Can this be considered the Vol Eyebrow? It's like a "hanging chad" there. It's not even sure where it's supposed to be lined up, it may even be off-sides for all we know.

I think that is what he wore during the game. I think the show is taped the night of the game.

Honestly I find it refreshing and pretty hilarious. He’s been grinding with his team all week and the first thing he has to do on Sunday is go shoot the sh!t with Bob for an hour. I don’t blame him, and I’m glad he doesn’t go on there and act like a lame ass used car salesman for an hour. At least the guy is real. He a football coach not an entertainer. Geez.

It's easy to spot flaws. His grammar is lacking, and he does come off as grumpy on this show. Having said that, and in the context of the above statement, I think it's wrong for him to try and portray himself as something he's not. He was hired to coach, and it's becoming obvious he is doing well. The team seems to be having fun. Guarentano's interview in this segment was pretty good. Nothing but smiles, and by the way, he mentioned the crowd being into it. It must be a good feeling to hurl a pass into the endzone and hear 100,000 react.

Ever see "My Fair Lady" ? Over time, the coarseness of a woman speaking cockney becomes refined, and who would know of her roots? Same might go for Pruitt. As he matures in this role and with Tennessee's successes, he might become polished. I like him the way he is.

I know it's probably premature to ask this, but has anybody worried about him maybe getting hired away from here? If yes, was the way Lane Kiffen left sparking some PTSD in that regards?

This year? No way. Now lets jump ahead 6 years, if he is doing great yes. If he does really well I think he would stay, Its a SEC school that he would have help to bring back. I don't see him wanting to leave the SEC to go north or west. I also don't see him going to any other SEC school other then Bama, and if he is getting looks to go to Bama you better believe he has killed it here.

As for Lane the only PTSD I get is when people want him to come back.

He's dry and doesn't smile a lot. Big deal. If you listen to his comments, he'll acually impart more football detail in 3 or 4 comments than Butch did in a typical season. He is real. His players and most recruits see that. Also, the head coach gets very little personal time during the season. He'd rather be spending time with his family than Kesling and would take less money for that tradeoff if he could.

Personally, I love the fact that while we see WEWON!!!!!!!!!, he seems to see "ok, there was some improvement in execution here and there but still a lot of mistakes, must improve on here, there and there." That is a man who is not looking for a 10 win season to be his high water mark.

I loved the lockerroom post game where the radio interviewer (can't remember who it is) asked one of his usual "leading questions where he answers it in the asking". He asked JP about the big improvement in Ty Chandler’s game tonight. Pruitt goes "well, I'm a coach and unfortunately all I can remember is his fumble".

Dude's locked in. I wish he could be excused from all this fan marketing crap and let a surrogate handle it. Heck, bring Butch back cause he lived for that stuff. Just keep him away from football. But, seriously, I hate to see CJP waste precious time during the season for this stuff that he despises and sucks at anyway. Let him coach and recruit!

Nailed it. He's monotone and boring in oration, but man you can learn some things when he talks.

Actually I love it. He just don’t give a durn about anything other than his players and winning! If you don’t like his clothes don’t watch!!

I don’t care what he wears or how expressionless his face is during that show. If he keeps fielding a team like the one we saw Saturday, he can do whatever he wants.

UT coach comes in and gives a great introductory press conference, people around here mock them for "winning the press conference" and tell them to shut up and win. They come in and beat the #11 team in the nation as a massive underdog, they mock him for not winning the interview.

Some people aren't happy unless they have something/someone to tear apart.
