Explain. And don't use the words "suck" or "horrible"

Well that limits my response.

Seriously though, our OL doesn't match up with the front 7s of any of our last 3 SEC opponents, and our front 7 really doesn't match up well with UK's or UM's OLs. Not sure about Vandy, although I did see them run the ball pretty well against UF, something we absolutely could not do, and they shredded Ark's defense on the ground. Even if we say Vandy is a wash, I think we are big dogs against UK and UM because of the LOS matchups.

This a great example of why many of us disagree on talent. We simple define it diffently

Talent for me means the ceiling a player has for his production. It has nothing to do with the actual production at present.
Agree. A track star can be groomed to be a wide receiver just because he's fast doesn't make him football player. You develop strength and techniques.

Pruitt is clearly frustrated with some of these players. He hates the inconsistent play and the way some guys take plays off and don't seem to care that much. He isn't used to that lack of effort and attitude. But IDT we have to read anything into his comments. He's flat-out saying he's going to replace the guys who aren't playing the way he expects them to play.

Tied for conference championships, close losses to big programs, Jones never experienced the emotion of the big break through win. It's really not on him. He just never knew anything but moral victory and when he was unable to garner the support of a fan base that had tasted a championship he resorted to cynicism justified by the false equivalence that he was familiar with. Anyway, I guess I have broken through the restraint against commenting on Jones. He's a sad case. Too bad, he was close at times. Still it's the stories that make college football great.

If you don't believe that, watch his show.

Nah, I'm not hearing this bull butter. Nobody was predicting a four win season. There were way more in the 7 or 8 win crowd than there were in the 4. That's BS.

Problem is with the scholarship limitations it's difficult to turn over a roster quickly. Transfers and grad transfers counting against the 25 really hurts. I have no doubt Pruitt and company really believe that they can do it but it's a monumental task. I'll be more confident if this class ends up special which I think it can be. Like I said earlier, if GA continues to recruit at this level, it will be difficult to dethrone them anytime soon. Also, I don't think this staff is finalized. I expect some turnover after the season.

Absolutely, it all hinges on this class. We lack speed and size and if we can't upgrade that, it's a setback. I agree that UGA is going to keep recruiting elite players and UF will, too. All I'm saying is that we should be able to catch up enough to be contenders for the Division by Year 4. The reality of relative parity is that 3 or 4 teams could be competing for Division championships going forward, with the top teams cannibalizing wins from each other. A good SEC team doesn't guarantee a championship-- just the chance to be a legit contender. And yes, there will be staff turnover. Count on it.

I agree on Kentucky but I expect them to play with a serious hangover.

Disagree on Mizzu and Vandy. We can match up fine with them

I’m afraid Allen is going to feast on our OL. If Helton and co can figure out a way to limit him enough to win, a lot of people on here ought to eat their words about him. The last few games have shown the tape is out on UK’s offense, and I think Pruitt and co have a chance to make them one dimensional. Hopefully, they come in deflated from yesterday’s game.

Missouri will be confident off Florida when, and they have the offensive firepower to make it look like the WVU game.

Vandy is a toss up.

Will be interesting to see if Pruitt can recruit on his reputation and coaching skills. Jones had the advantage for a while of a surge of talented legacies.

What we are seeing now is due to a complete lack of SEC level depth (especially on the OL) and two years of zero development and S&C under Butch. Pruitt was brought in to recruit and to develop SEC level players. He will be given at least 4 years. I was hoping we would win 6 games this year, just to get the extra practices, but I don’t see that happening at this point. I hope I’m wrong though.
