More Voters Blame Media Than Trump For Dividing The US

I don't watch news (BBC and NPR ftw), but every time I tune in to CNN there is always a Kellyanne type on there spouting bs and nonsense.

They are guests for 3 min spots. FOX gives Juan and shep an hour with shep getting his own show to run amock with .

don't confuse being against Trump with being honest about Trump. It's a credit to Fox though that they haven't changed his time slot or shut him down regardless of his bias.
He is one of a few bright lights on that trash, tabloid network. Got to keep him for legitimacy. Otherwise it is even more obvious that the network is a shill for the GOP and Lord Red Hat.

See, this is the difference in you and me. I can say Fox is the mainstream propaganda wing of the GOP. You won't say CNN is the left wing propaganda machine of the DNC.
I've said they are center-left. If you want a declarative statement, then yes, CNN is the go to source for nasty Democrats the world over. Just shy of all those commies watching MSNBC.

Shepard Smith is the closest thing to an actual journalist that Fox News has... and the work he does is closer to the actual reporting of news than anything else Fox News does. (now cue the mature posters on here who will disparage him because he is gay)

As far as this poll? Who cares? The media has become increasingly partisan over time but so have our politicians. Donald Trump's speeches at his rallies all follow the same theme: He portrays himself as a victim and then gives a laundry list of institutions or people who have aggrieved him. He is constantly appealing to his audience for sympathy (odd for someone who struggles so much with compassion himself) and then whining about all the bad people who are out to get him. Just take note that when he speaks of "fake news", he is mostly defining that as "news that is negative towards him". He is rarely specific about his alleged claims of false reporting during his speeches.

I would levy one criticism of Donald Trump that applies to Barack Obama as well: They both only wanted to be the President of the people who voted for them. Neither one has ever shown any interest in the art of compromise. Neither has ever reached out to those who disagree with them. Trump actively attacks members of his own party who disagree with him (such as Paul Ryan recently on birthright citizenship).

It's so like you to ignore what the people say and inject your own view.

the polling shows that people do think that the press is actually more divisive than the POTUS.

if people believe being divisive is bad and the press is the worst offender then yes the press is the biggest problem of the people

It's interesting to watch how they cherry pick numbers that support their argument while ignoring arguments that don't fit the narrative. It baffles me.

I find this to be the case quite often. The left has a hard time seeing their bias.

See my post above about CNN.

Oh, I read your statement, but it certainly didn't come across as sincere. It was more like a conciliatory statement. I'm not sure you actually believe it so much as you said it because GV called you out.

Well I'm sorry it wasn't "sincere" enough for you. I stand by what I said to GV.

That's the point. That's what Trump is trying to convince the blind masses to believe. It's working, to the shame of America. Look at the public opinion of the press over the past 2 years.
The data is not a reflection of a changing press but of Trump's efforts to gaslight. It's fascinating to see how people can be manipulated into following a mad man.

He's said it multiple times. He does not always qualify. Delude yourself all you wish as to his intent and its effect.....Trump is counting on the fact that you will.

He’s not trying to deceive me , he doesn’t have too . I see the slant and agenda the media has . The establishments golden child lost ( even with them helping her ) and they just don’t want Trump in office . They have sold their integrity to TRY and get him out . Oddly, the left leaning media helped create an underdog effect and have been trying ever since to fix it . The problem is when you wrestle with pigs in the mud ( politicians ) you are going to get muddy .

All good. As long as you are aware of his intent and its effect. (that would put you in a small minority among the Trumpers)

I don’t believe the conservative are deceived at all . The narrative of Trump somehow having the party under hypnosis and they will someday wake up to see the error of their ways is just a dream of the liberals . Business as usual , going back to trying to build a utopian global snow globe is over . You got close , but just couldn’t close the sale .

In the stone ages, journalism classes taught that journalists had an obligation to report from the perspective of the disadvantaged because most media was privately owned and ownership/management would push for their interests. Somehow, that was supposed to result in a balance. Nowadays, most media is publicly owned by corportions that have little to no input in editorial decisions. Couple that with most national media being based in small, incredibly expensive enclaves in major metropolitan areas where day-to-day concerns are not so much about ensuring the provision of life's necessities and it's easy to see how a lot of middle America perceives the media as elitist.

I try to watch a variety of TV media and it’s bad.
The left in its vitriol towards trump. It’s become ok to call someone a white nationalist, racist with nothing to back it up. Mention black face you get fired.
The right won’t admit the troops to the border is a pre election effort to rally the base.

Then just say "CNN is left" instead of adding the center to it.

If they were centered in the least, they'd probably have to fire about half their so called journalists.

I havent watched television news, local or national, in years.
That decision has made a big difference in my level of peace and happiness.

Did you ever consider the possibility that 90% of Trump's presidency has been a disaster? That would explain the numbers.

That's simply asinine. There is no way you can back that claim up with hard data.
