More Voters Blame Media Than Trump For Dividing The US

Come on, those networks he listed have been critical of him, as they have all Presidents. Then he said they are enemies of the people. He is saying anyone that disagrees with him is an enemy of the people. It is right there in his tweets.

CNN because of his attacks and MSNBC because of their political leanings have clearly decided either on principle or for the bottom line to abandon any pretense of objectivity in favor of being anti-Trump wherever possible.

Objective media studies continually show that cover of the Trump presidency hits around 90% negative on these outlets. That is editorial choice. The polling data that starts this thread demonstrates that most people see that.

Did you ever consider the possibility that 90% of Trump's presidency has been a disaster? That would explain the numbers.

The people responding that the media is divisive are talking about Fox.

That’s why CNN viewership and rating are below the food network ? Hang in there , when they stop slanting so hard to the left and become “ The most trusted name in news “ it will come back up again , maybe .

would be helpful to see how that compares to other POTUSi

I'd bet the numbers vary significantly and are very conditional. Bush 43 for example probably had high marks for unity early in his Presidency. But dropped big as time went on.

If you think CNN is hard left, then you have never seen hard left news outlets lol. CNN is center-left, I'll give you that. But they are far from what Trump makes them out to be in his hissy-fits.

I already said it was sarcasm. No more than 75%.

didn't see it when I posted but I disagree with 75%. There's probably a zone of 60/40 either way then it all depends on perspective of media if they want to go pro or con. 90 is beyond 3 standard deviations and a clear sign of an adversarial relationship. Politicians we expected to be biased - the news media is willingly moving into that world then complaining that they are being called on it.

The only question for me is how much of the voluntary run from objectivity is based on real bias vs how much is a money grab by top brass. I presume it's equal parts both.

This is true. Seems like Bush had fairly high approval ratings, even before 9/11. Then they were like 80% after.

If they are always going on about being truth in news and reporting the facts then they shouldn’t be left period .. agree ? If they would stop trying to say they don’t lean left and just embrace it nobody could be hard on them for pushing the lefts agenda .

CNN is not hard left. They are hard anti-Trump. The have few rivals in that space and that's what makes them fake news - they've willingly abandoned objectivity because Trump was mean to them.

I was still being sarcastic with the 75% number. For better or worse, and for the worse in my opinion, news is tied to our political leanings. Especially with algorithms that tailor what we see to our internet activities.
I think money is a much stronger fuel than journalistic integrity, but hopefully some are fighting the good fight. Shepard Smith on Fox News is a good example of dudes bringing the truth in face of money and influence. How he is still on Fox News after being so honest about Trump is beyond me.

Driving for a living I’ve spent a ton of nights in hotel / motel rooms . couple of things I’ve noticed and it doesn’t seem to matter what area of the country I’m in , CNN is always on the lower channels you see when you first pull up the guide , Fox is always on the upper channels and I use to see either the weather channel or CNN from the guest before me the most , but that’s changed to the weather channel or Fox now the most .

Get rid of that fair and balanced moniker and let Fox News admit they are a propaganda network for the right and we got a deal.

Juan Williams on the five also, Fox does give something CNN and msnbc doesn’t , it works for them I guess .

When they stop being top ratings earners they might do that but right now FOX is golden , no matter what the haters say ... they making big big money .

I don't watch news (BBC and NPR ftw), but every time I tune in to CNN there is always a Kellyanne type on there spouting bs and nonsense.

don't confuse being against Trump with being honest about Trump. It's a credit to Fox though that they haven't changed his time slot or shut him down regardless of his bias.
