Tuesday Practice Thread: Charlotte Week

Lol.

He has a lot to learn at linebacker. Better make him practice running back.

Strategic genius here. Are you Bobby Fischer?
Well it’s easy when my opponent is so simple. 😉

He’s not going to be ready at linebacker, so why in Jesus and the Easter Bunny’s name is he practicing at a position he may play at? What happens when my King flops over on its side like that?

- ten_eleven_twelve? titans prolly

I can understand the move. I even understood CJP said Banks requested it. I don't understand going back now...unless one of our other RBs is dinged up.
I wonder if Banks asked to go back to R back from L back.
If you wait until you need him...you waited too long. Good coaches prepare.

Guess this is already obsolete...lasted 9 hours

Your “plans” must be really inflexible. Banks is going to be a linebacker, but he has a lot to learn before he gets on the field in that role. In the meantime, use him on special teams and spot at running back where he can contribute the rest of the season. About the extent of the science involved.
The science involved is last week the coin came up heads, this week it came up tails.

Did you'll not see CJP coaching up JB at LB last week, he knows the position backward and forwards now, time to learn something new. moving to LT tomorrow.

I think Pruitt will let Banks eat at RB vs. Charlotte while resting Chandler and Jordan most of the game. IDT he's worried that a JB fumble would cost us the game.

Hell, maybe he'll get to play at LB too!

Are you saying that a player who just started learning a new position should be in the two deep?

“Did you’ll not see” practicing at an OLD position is not LEARNING “something new”? It’s getting reps at a position you do KNOW. Because you might play. Practicing is a newfangled thing. Pruitt might have invented it. 😏

Coach Pruitt addressed the Banks' situation before the game last week. To paraphrase he stated Banks needed some work on his expectations.

I have no idea what's going on with Banks.

I would assume they expect him to play RB against Charlotte. Instead of getting Chandler or Jordan hurt they’ll probably pull them and split reps between London, Carlin, Banks

Yep. No need to risk injury to Chandler, Jordan, and London. They'll all get some carries, but I bet they plan to just use Banks most of the second half. Wouldn't surprise me if he's back at linebacker the next week.
You'd hope
Let JG rest and heal, start and play KC first half, play Shrout second half ...if I had my wish.
Hypothetically, there should be alot of redshirt guys getting action this week.

Maybe Pruitt's rewarding him playing both ways because he's one of the few that plays the right way.

Just my 2 cents Pruitt agreed to the move and saw Banks had the skill set, but realized was too steep learning curve to do in mid season (which he mentioned wasn't ideal when he made the switch initially), and maybe he'll move to LB in off season. Or maybe a Pruitt hold my beer moment..."watch what happens on volnation when I switch Banks back to RB".

So, if both qb’s would’ve got hurt, then Shrout would’ve played? What’s happened to McBride?

Yes, Shrout is now 3rd team. He can play in every game to finish the season if need be without burning his redshirt.

Do you really have to ask “what happened to McBride”? Spoiler alert.....he’s not good enough to play qb in the SEC.

I think you are seeing a subtle impact of the redshirt rule change. With only 5 games left they can really start ramping up Shrout with practice time. He could play 4 and not burn the redshirt. What are the odds he would have to play in all 5? I think the coaches are taking that chance and getting him more reps and thinking they will not need McBride. Who knows what McBride has said behind closed doors??

We only have four games left.
