I think I'll be happy if we land Wright and Gray and finish around that number ten spot. Just haven't followed recruiting as closely this year. Maybe that comes with age.
If we do yeah. Between Wright, Morris, Gray, and Keyton that's a pretty solid class. The DL is going to be a mess though unfortunately. I do think between now and NSD we are going to see a lot of decommits and guys that aren't really on the radar come up

Where are we at on d line recruiting? I think our secondary will be very much improved next year, which can actually help out a lacking d line. Hopefully anyway.

Yep.

Obviously this is not ideal. But in the grand scheme, really nothing had changed. Still have about 8 to play 5.

I'd say given the circumstances it was probably a good thing Pruitt was so insistent on the cross training.

I believe that's why he's gonna be great for UT. He sees the big picture when no one else does.

I don't think it's as bad as people think. We have five committed right now, with a couple being JUCO guys. That plus the guys we got last year seems like ok numbers for a 3-4.

People seem to be worried about not having a big time DE playmaker, but from what I've seen of 3-4 defenses in the past, that usually comes from the OLB spot.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think the DL is as big of a deal as some people seem to think it is.

God forbid someone has an opinion about the almighty insiders that isn't 110% hero-worship. You guys are ridiculous.
And I think you're ridiculous for constantly trashing the guy. Has he ever been a dick to you? I like you, and usually you give a guy a fair shake, but you've been on his back and OVs back for no good reason.

Well we have 2 JUCO DL guys because we lose tons on that end next year. Those are always scary because they're hit or miss, hopefully they can instantly contribute. Other than that we have three 3 stars, one of which is supposed to decommit and go to Auburn. But yes, the secondary and most other positions should be much improved next year. We don't lose hardly anyone outside the whole damn DL (Shy Tuttle, Alexis Johnson, Kyle Phillips, Paul Bain). After today though I'm not sure Trey Smith sees the football field again, which is a huge loss on the OL.

1) Their recent history of beating a really good Baylor team, being sucky again, and going on an 18 game win streak?

2)

3) I remember the pre-internet world and yeah, "We'll kill ya" in the context of a football game wouldn't have been taken as a serious threat, but these ain't them times.

4) Again, it's a football game. There's nothing indecent about a booster club paying for their tickets to a football game, even if it doesn't involve their team.

UCF Knights Watch is a booster club/alumni group as far as I can tell. They're the ones that organized it. They thanked the school for their support, but their statement made it clear that the fans paid the way. I know VN tends to lean into the thinking that "caravans" are paid for by shadowy figures with immense wealth and power, but this ain't that, Chief.

And again, there's no on-field rivalry between UCF and UGA or UF.. so no it's not like UT fans caravaning to the Iron Bowl where some of our shittier fans would think they're justified for being belligerent.
That was a server crashing response! I’ll take it easy on Freak with:

Their recent history of beating a 3 loss team and somehow extrapolating that into a NC claim because the system didn’t work for you. The school you beat had to suck it up back in 2004.

Between our two posts saying basically the same thing, I think we got the “it’s a different world” angle covered.

Paying for the TICKETS ain’t the big deal. It’s plopping those Golden Knights azzes into tour vans and crashing said caravan Smokey and the Bandit style into two other teams traditional, highly visible rivalry event resplendent with “Go Knights!” and “Defending National Champions!” Those mensa’s ever consider a tailgate tent?

The degree of RIVALRY has never been a part of this. UCF has no STAKE in this game, so they shouldn’t be a visible organization at someone else’s event. The fact that it took Florida and UGA’s rogue fanbase going into the gutter to head it off says all that’s needed about CLASS. UT’s administration (flawed as they have been) doesn’t send their alumni to other school’s signature rivalry games... because it’s a “dickish” thing to do. If one could put a shadowy moneybag booster face on the attempt it’d be less salacious as a school openly disrespecting others. Thanks for the discussion...

I’ll live with that. Online noise and “threats” are difficult to differentiate. Vol fans are familiar with the genuine nuts, and no...serious violence over a game is bull. But the resentment towards an ORGANIZED caravan from another school at one of the great traditional SEC game sites is on point. Individual UCF students wanting to attend the Great Cocktail Party would prolly be welcome, but the school busing em in? With their recent history? If I was a bought in Dawg or Gator, I might throw a faceless “I’ll kill you!” into the Twitter machine...but I most likely wouldn’t. Been acclimatized to modern reality where a nut would actually do it. It’s a shame. You used to be able to yell “we’ll kill you!” to opposing fans in plain sight, and they’d know it was part of the game. UCF made the right decision to back off. It’s a shame they had to be threatened to be decent.
I 100% agree..UCFs whoever they were is garbage for even thinking of doing this.

Would this OL combination be terrible?

Richmond - LT
J Johnson - LG
R Johnson - C
Niehaus - RG
Hall - RT

Or flip the tackles maybe?

Jahmir Johnson might also be a better LT than Richmond or Hall so:

J Johnson - LT
Carvin - LG
R Johnson - C
Hall - RG
Richmond - RT
What about this one

LT Antonetti
LG Brooks
C Crosby
RG Wolf
RT Tatum

Butch probably

SMH...figures Newt and b assmaster would like this junk. Why don't you guys just ignore him, and then you would never have to see his posts, and be pissed off about something he says?

Just a ridiculously easy solution; would be better for all concerned. Why those that feel that way about him don't just do that makes no sense. I'm convinced some just have to look for things to criticize.
