The left had lunatics long before Trump. Repulsive behavior should never be rewarded. The fact that it was with Trump changed the dynamics. It's difficult to claim an action, stance, or belief is wrong when that very thing led to the election of the current POTUS. You guys never seemed to have understood that that is one of the things that makes the Trump fiasco so damaging to the nation. The new norm is rotten.
Trump has intentionally and continually fostered a deep hatred toward the media and all politicians on the left. He has done his best to normalize repulsive and aggressive words and actions.
The idiotic "lock her up" chant should have been enough to warn off any decent thinking voter. The fact that it is still popular at his pep rallies says it all.
Who's culpable if it turns out to be a left wing loon?
Where is the left in regards to this?
Be objective, be fair.
Remember this reasonable LG post?
Yeah, I like it when his meds are in balance.
Legally culpable? The bomber.
Most morally culpable? The current political climate, left and right.
See above.
Unfortunately my hopes were dashed and my expectation met. Didn't even take him 24 hours to go off on a blathering tangent to blame one of his go-to boogeymen.
Its a question of degree.
Is Trump legally culpable for it if some unsteady person took his cheering for violence and antagonism of the left way too far? No.
Is Trump more morally culpable than you are for it? Yes.
So somewhere in between.
Legally culpable? The bomber.
Most morally culpable? The current political climate, left and right.

You do realize there is more than enough blame on BOTH sides?
Does it make sense to attach a high degree of importance to the motives of a loon in the first place? The package sent to CNN was addressed to John Brennan even though there would be no reason for him to be there. DWS's name was misspelled...See. You're changing rules again. If it's a right leaning loon, it's Trump's fault. If it's a left leaning loon, it's both sides fault. How does that make sense?
You are shifting subjects. The issue is not simply blame. Its what do we do about it?
As discussed yesterday, Trump had a great chance to be a leader on this and to say, you know what, don't take our political differences to the point of saying something that might be interpreted by an unstable person as touting violence. Had he stuck to the script from yesterday, he's have been more than halfway there.
But, the real Donald Trump showed up this morning on Twitter. Not only did he stray entirely away from the prior day's message -- he junked it in favor of blaming the media, when CNN was one of the media organizations that had received a package.
Imagine if, in short order, HRC went on tour bashing Fox as the enemy of the people, pointed to the Fox report in every audience and encouraged people in the audience to boo them ferociously. Then, she went to a rally and openly congratulated a candidate for physically criminally assaulting a Fox reporter, to the cheers of her audience.
And then a week or so later bombs started showing up at the Trump WH, Fox, etc.
And then she gave a speech saying "there's no place for violence!" Followed by a facebook post by her the next day that this is all Fox's own fault.
