I wasnt arguing. Our coaches aren’t paid to be drill sergeants, are they? I’d much rather have someone who is calm and teaches guys instead of a guy who runs around and screams into a mic until his face turns red at practice. I don’t want someone who curses out players during practice and purposely embarrasses them in front of their teammates to the point they quit like a previous staff did, but I guess that’s just me.

For what it's worth, most drill sergeants aren't doing that either. They have their moments, mostly for mind games, but they spend tons of time teaching stupid 18 year old kids how to be disciplined soldiers and they do it well. The stereotypical movie drill sergeant moments are only 5-10% of real basic training. At least that was my experience.

Neihaus did. And I definitely agree with you, i just think the Oline is partly to blame and I’m just not sure how much different the outcome is if he did recognize it
Oh they have to hold blocks and shift quicker without a doubt. They are not a very good unit right now and need all the help they can get.

If he is going to Blitz, we better hope KC is out there instead of JG... he won't be able to pick it up or see it and get mauled...

Yes which is why I want KC to start. KC would do better at managing the O in this type of game.

Minimize mistakes, sacks, and negative plays.

With JG, if things go south quickly, he gets down and it affects him mentally and our O as well. Puts the D in bad spots.

The path to taking 25 is to sign 22 on ESD and NSD, then enroll three more before fall camp to count toward the 2020 class. Pruitt's comments make it clear that he intends to max out the numbers... but we're going to part ways with some of the current commits to make the 25 work. Then we'll part ways with about 15 current players to hit the roster count. I'm sure we'll look at walk-ons, too, and see if we can pick up some extra help there.
Whoah... So essentially he's trying to completely turn around the roster as fast as possible and will try and run off a bunch of guys already on the team who wont play? Then count towards the 2020 class with a few transfers and then add on some walk ons?

I wasn’t using that to support my argument, it was an add on.

Had we not turned the ball over 10000 times it’s a close game. It’s a bad loss cause we played like trash and handed them the game

So if we don't turn the ball over we win that game? Is that what you're saying?

If so, you completely validated my original post. This team is good enough to win out.

Not necessarily win but close game yes. How many did they score from inside the 20 because of TO’s, 3 I think? That’s 21 points.
UF really didn’t move the ball very well, we forced 7 punts, for reference we punted 6 times vs Bama.

I do think we’re good enough to win out, not necessarily likely tho. I just think UF was a bad loss due to how we played

I get that he's saying our d is simple but who sets the defense if Banks is in? I'm still excited by the prospect of Banks playing LB but am curious as well.
We typically have 2 ILB on the field at once so I assume who ever the other one is. I doubt Banks would ever be the only ILB on the field. Probably only for blitzes and maybe some plays they think will be a run

We have losses against the following teams (current rank and record):

1. Alabama (8-0)
7. Georgia (6-1)
9. Florida (6-1)
13. West VA (5-1)

There's not a 'Bad' loss in that group. The only truly beatable team for us so far was a huge win -- Auburn.

The second half of the season will define the 2018 Vols. Every team remaining on the schedule is as beatable as Auburn. Removing an unwinnable game against Bama, this Vols team (including the coaching staff) has improved dramatically since the beginning of the season.

If they come strong with game plan and effort, there's no reason this team can't sweep the remaining teams. Will it happen? Maybe not. We'll be playing some evenly matched teams. But anyone who thinks it isn't possible is shortsighted.

Interestingly all of those losses except for Alabama were by 26 points each. Maybe that's already been said.

We have 11 scholarship seniors. So yeah, there could be a blood bath at the end of the semester.

I have a feeling Grant Williams won’t be nearly as good as he is expected to be.

I agree that it is more difficult when you are a target. But, if he has improved his outside shot any, then he will be more difficult to stop.

Plus, last year, Barnes found ways to get him isolated, and I expect more of that.
