See, the bathroom issue for me is overblown. I'm a guy. I have 2 young sons. I don't worry about a gay man being in the same bathroom as I or my sons. Likewise, I wouldn't give a second thought to a transsexual being there. Fact is that folks generally go to the bathroom to, well, relieve themselves. Just because you're gay or transsexual doesn't mean you're there for nefarious purposes. A transsexual going to the women's bathroom would go in and use one of the stalls like everyone else. The issue is really with the discomfort of those who can't understand. Now, if an assault were to take place, there are laws covering that. A heterosexual male could hide out in a women's bathroom and assault someone. Assuming a transsexual will do something like that isn't warranted.I agree they shouldn’t be discriminated against or treated poorly.... I am against them using the female restroom or being able to compete in female sports as a biological male.
God created man and woman, science created man or woman. In the future there will probably be people that have an extra set of hands growing on their back for spares.I find it kind of strange that many liberals consider many conservatives to be science deniers. Yet on this issue, many liberals/progressives are obviously denying science.
I can give you a good example how it’s affected me.... I was busy with my patients one night and we were getting an admit. 600 lbs, septic, very sick. Pt arrived, I was in the room to help and got the pt settled. I asked my charge nurse where his stickers were so I could put him in the computer. I had 3 nurses tell me almost at the same time that’s a she.Not arguing that fact. Human beings are insanely complex beings and each and every one of us are different. However, I’m still trying to figure out how any of this changes your life? Why would you want to further alienate a human that’s clearly dealing with issues most of us can’t comprehend. Why would you want to repeal protections that allow them to cope with their issues? To me, that seems very unamerican and pretty selfish.

The other nurses filled me in on his delayed gender reassignment surgery and his wish to be called a female name. All this conversation happened in the nurses station.
Told my coworker if she wanted to participate Incalling the 6’2” pt with a p**** a she, then she was welcome to, I’m not going to because that’s a male.
I’ll let you decide if any “ rights” were stepped on.
You sound like a pretty straight shooter ma'am. Can't fault you at all in my book.I can give you a good example how it’s affected me.... Let's consider gun rights. I don't own a gun, but I fully support private gun ownership. Violence is committed with guns. I don't assume a private gun owner is going to commit violent crime, though.
Fact is that no one can feel safe at all times. There's also nothing inherently unsafe about a transgender individual. Would you have an issue with a 350 pound musclebound homosexual being in the same changing room as you? Should gays larger than you therefore be banned from men's rooms? I've felt uncomfortable walking toward a large, darkly clothed black man on a sidewalk at night. Should he not be able to walk there? Listen, you can feel uncomfortable around transgender individuals or even disgusted, if that's your gut reaction, but the assumption that they're dangerous is unfounded. That's letting your feelings guide policy, something that liberals around here are often soundly criticized for. [Not liberal, btw]To me it’s not about females being assaulted by a transgender.... I admit that the cases of that happening is small although once is too many. The issue I have is that women should be able to feel safe at all times and especially in enclosed areas such as bathrooms or locker rooms. Look up the transgender from planet fitness and tell me that your wife or daughter if you had one would feel comfortable changing in the same room as him/her. My solution is to be like Kroger’s and have an individual gender neutral restroom where someone can go and that person does not feel threatened whether they are transgender, or female.

I know you weren’t asking me but Nope, nope, nope. That’s why that line of males in females bathroom, locker room whatever should not even be crossed. And visa versa.I know this is not PC to say but men and women are different....I don’t care who comes into the locker room or bathroom with me bc I always feel like I can handle myself..... most/some women are different..
Let me ask you a question..... would you be ok with grown men changing in the locker room with a 15 year old girl?

Funny story along those lines. When I was out in Pasadena in May working the Taylor Swift concert, apparently the girls found the lines going into their bathrooms just a tad too long for their liking. They decided to take matters into their own hands and turned the guy's bathrooms into coed facilities to ensure the call of nature could be answered.
Sometimes you just let things work themselves out naturally.
I find that hilarious, I have used the men’s room myself with a gaurd outside...it was totally awkward. When ya gotta go, you gotta go.Funny story along those lines. That’s a regular occurrence at Neyland. But if the roles were reversed I have no doubt KPD would be dragging the guy out by his ankles.Funny story along those lines. ANd no doubt would have been pizzed beyond all belief had they garnered any undue attention. Naturally and all that.Funny story along those lines.
