He's a good player, just too slow in coverage, has poor hands, and misses a few too many tackles to be elite.

Very few of the balls that have gone off Warrior's hands seemed to me to be "cinches" as interceptions. Most of them were good effort plays to even get a touch. It would be nice to see him begin to haul some in. I got to agree. I bet he would agree.

The key to win against SC is running the ball and controlling the clock. Their Dline is small. I’ve heard they might try to play rick sandidge at DT this week to get bigger up front but he’s a true freshman. This is a game where the oline can really build a lot of confidence.

JG or chryst need to make just enough passing plays to keep them honest too. I would feed JJ, callaway, and Chandler the same way we did against AU.

Why people don't mention Palmer in this group is beyond me, he's been arguably our best receiver..

I know part of this is based on play calling and situations, but we actually have allowed 4 less sacks than this point last year. We gave up 16 at this point last year and 35 for the year. We are at 12 for the year this year.

Obviously, I am not trying to say we are great or even good there.

I don’t disagree with you. I don’t think our fans are ready for a Mark Stoops-esque rebuild that takes 6 or 7 years (or a Johnny Majors rebuild). So he may not get it off the ground before we rise up and throw him in the Tennessee river. We may be 2 or 3 more coaches away from fans finally realizing there is no silver bullet quick fix coaching hire and that Tennessee is not a place where that can work.

I wish people had patience though! I think Pruitt can get it done if we give him time!

Tennessee isn’t Kentucky and we aren’t in the 70’s/80’s. There’s no reason he shouldn’t get it off the ground in year 3 or 4. Even Butch did.

Probably semantics but to me, getting it off the ground and consistent/steady program mean the same thing. I think our fans think the rebuild is a hockey stick - it bounces steadily up from the bottom with no downturns. I don’t think they can handle a few 8/9 win seasons followed by a 6 win season. They want 6, then 9, then 11 or more consistently to eternity.

Just a FWIW. Go to the ESPN expanded stats on JG and you will see what stands out. 14 sacks on the season, 10 of them in the first half. Add in his turnovers. It's anybody's guess as to how many hits and hurries have also been involved, but it clearly would be loaded more heavily to the first half.

Mentally, he and his O-line are not ready to start each game. I contend part of the problem is playing the wrong guys at G much of the year to go with the occasional whiffs and busts of Richmond and Smith. All of the rest of it is on JG. His lack of ability to make pre-snap reads, read coverages, and lack of mobility/pocket awareness are obvious. All of that also influences the final results of the O-line on each play. After half time adjustments in each game this changes for the better. It is worth noting that his worst performances were against the two toughest defenses in UF and Bama. So let's see how it goes from here against lesser D's other than UK's.

I agree i think part of the problem is JG cant read a defense pre snap. Could we not, maybe line up a little earlier in the play clock and have him check to the sidelines and let the coaches call the protection adjustments
