Is it that the oline is that bad or is the lack of adjustments in protection just making them look that bad, I rarely if ever see JG change the protection, don't really see in slides or pinch shifts to account for the blitzes defenses are sending

Were stocked with “top 15 recruiting” talent. If Pruitt can’t get 7-8 wins out of this team what can he sell? He must beat two or three more SEC teams or he’ll never get off the ground IMO.

I don’t disagree with you. I don’t think our fans are ready for a Mark Stoops-esque rebuild that takes 6 or 7 years (or a Johnny Majors rebuild). So he may not get it off the ground before we rise up and throw him in the Tennessee river. We may be 2 or 3 more coaches away from fans finally realizing there is no silver bullet quick fix coaching hire and that Tennessee is not a place where that can work.

I wish people had patience though! I think Pruitt can get it done if we give him time!

Banks has the level of energy and effort we need on the field... but it's getting too risky to put the ball in his hands. A fumble could cost us any one of these last four SEC games. Moving him to D could work this year, give him time to mature, then see how the positions shake out next spring. It'll leave us short another RB, though-- not the best situation for a team that wants to run the ball.

I have modest expectations for this class, honestly. Top 15ish when the dust settles. We’re in a longer rebuild process once again, and my suspicion is that it may be harder for Pruitt to sell the truly elite kids on that than it was for Butch or Dooley. We’ve been down so long I think recruits (and fans, honestly) doubt whether we are truly an elite program anymore. I think that’s why Pruitt has made statements about UT being elite a week or two ago. He’s trying to sell it but when Bama rolls through and beats you by 5 TDs every time you play them it’s hard not to trust what your eyes are telling you about who is elite and who is not.

Time will tell but our slow recruiting at this point isn’t surprising.
But Look at Bama's schedule.. Who have they not slaughtered? I am interested to see how LSU does against them.

Carvin looks like a bull fighter every game we play vs the big boys. Eyes get big. I would have liked to see how OL played if jahmir didn't get hurt. OL looked its best in run game early vs auburn then jahmir got hurt and we haven't had a positive run since
Does anyone know if Jahmir will be healthy and ready to go this week?

I don’t disagree, we’re Kentucky until we’re not.

I'm tired of these we will never be the same or be back posts. There will come a time whether it is in year 2,3 or 4 where Pruitt will come to the crossroads of taking the next step. Even Dooley and Butch reached that moment and neither could grasp it but it was there for the taking. Pruitt will get his shot at some point with HIS guys. We will see if he breaks through. I got a feeling he will

LSU’s quarterback situation is worse than ours. I fully expect him to cave-in under that Bama defense. LSUs only chance is to win with their defense getting a lot of turnovers and nothing I’ve seen from Alabama makes me think that will happen.

He’s not getting any important run on offense anyway.

I noticed they moved him to gunner on either kickoff coverage or punt coverage. That could be a sign of where they see his future.

I doubt Pruitt would hang in for a 6-year rebuild. He's a guy used to winning, and losing like UT does is a miserable experience for him. If he can't get the players to start competing at a high level, I think he'll be ready to move on in a few years. If he gets the players, he'll compete.

Banks is the big power back CJP likes. Don't see that guy on the roster or in '19 recruits.

Where's he going to go? Be an analyst at Alabama? We'll fire him before he moves on.

It’s not going to take 6 years. Good grief folks. The intern had a playoff roster in year 3 he was just awful at coaching. 6 year rebuilds are for places like KY, not for places like TN where you can recruit in the top 10.
Yep. I’ve said it 100 times and I’ll say it again. We should take a jump next year or Pruitt isn’t “the guy.”

Plus most great coaches get things going year two. I think we will be fine. Finish this year strong on the field and in recruiting and let’s get ready for next year. Schedule isn’t too bad

I can see this. He's not used to what he's going through. I hope he has the patience to see it through. I think it will largely depend on what support he gets from the administration. If they start balking on things he perceives as needs to success, I think he leaves for a program that will invest in championship level success. We are a penny pinching program that looks a football as a cash cow for other things. We max out revenue and minimize expenditures.

Why hire Pruitt if you are not going to let him build it Bama style? I mean he's a relatively inexperienced coordinator (but very successful) with no head coaching experience. In my opinion you hire him for his inside knowledge of how to run a program.

That's why he goes to Fulmer. A guy who knows what a winning program needs, and says this is what I need. Fulmer then does Fulmer things and gets the money for it.

It's a night game at Scar after they are coming off a bye week and getting back their best defensive player and you guys are questioning why we are 8 point underdogs lol.

We were never supposed to win this game. I think we lose this one and Missouri then split UK and Vandy. 5-7
You're speaking like we have already lost it. For the record, I think that the line is about right. I still think we have a good shot to win.
