Hope you are right but Vandy's pass coverage was a lot better than ours this week. Lots of time between now and then and GA could do some damage.

They covered 9 passes against the worst passing team in the conference.
We were covering future NFL WRs with a 1st round draft pick QB that is on pace to break a bunch of records.

The UK game will be about getting Snell on the ground and spying their QB. Their D is legit. I see a game that doesn't get above 20 points for the winner.

That UK QB is averaging 5.9 ypc, and has thrown for 721 yds in 7 games this season. He was 3-9 for 18 yds Saturday vs Vandy. It is his running ability in tandem with Snell and Rose that we have to worry about. That's not to say he can't throw if we don't get pressure on him, but it is the UK running game that is the big threat.

It is Lock and Mizzou that we will have to worry about in the passing game, especially if Emanuel Hall is back. We will probably have to score 30 or more points to win that game.

Don't think Pruitt ever surrenders...the Vols simply imploded at the beginning of the second half, safety, Bama TD, then another Bama TD after Phillips interception. Game was decided so time to man up and see if we can run the ball on the No. 1 team in the country. No points but that was some slobber knocking football in the 4th quarter. Like coach said if we can't find a way to run the ball we ain't winning games anyway. Sorry your boy didn't get a game ball and get carried off the field.

Everything in this statement is utter nonsense! How a person could even come up with such poppy cock is mind baffling. JG has been the starter since game 1, just because Keller got some stats in garbage time doesn’t mean he should be starting. Cause if he was actually better than JG than he would of been starting since the WVU game. And the reason a coach starts to run it in the 2nd half when he’s down big is so the clock can hurry up and run out of time, nothing more nothing less. Stop trying to make something out of absolutely nothing. I and multiple others on VOl nation wasted precious time reading this thread and that’s time we can’t get back. Next time make a thread worth reading.

How’d that second half go for Chryst and our QB play after a strong 5-7 start, which included a couple of short, routine swing passes to Ty out of the backfield? By my count, about 4 of 8 for 45 yards, no touchdowns and a safety. Maybe that’s why?

If you accept that a game is decided a minute into the 2nd half then you are simply a quitter. Manning up would be trying to fight back even if all the odds are against us, and they were. But we quit, went into practice mode, and that is not a good sign.

KC was not under center the entire 2nd half, OP. He obviously was under center the 1st play of the half because of Chandler's botched fair catch at the 2, and KC started under center on the 1st play of the 2nd possession, but after that I would guess he was in the shotgun more than he was under center, other than the final UT series of the 4th qtr.

Cmon, man, get a clue. Pruitt isn’t going to do that in the press.

Now, behind closed doors, they go through every play with the QBs and critique everything about their play. And, while Chryst appeared to play well, I would bet the farm that he didn’t play perfectly and it was pointed out to make him better. I know we haven’t seen it in over a decade here, but that is what they call coaching.

Reading between the lines, I think Pruitt is very frustrated that many of his players don’t want to be coached hard. He wants them to take ownership and improve.

Why is above so hard for everyone to understand? Game was well in hand for Bama, so, “class in session boys, we’re gonna figure out how to run the football”. Didn’t go well I just think he’s trying to work on toughness and culture. May not do it next year, but he’s got to get mindset right. Odd, 7 games in, that he still talked a lot about us missing simple stuff on blocking like stepping the right way or simple checks by qb when there’s 5 lined up on three.

Well you may forget but the coach had him under center handing the ball off. Did he ever start out of the shotgun in the 2nd half? Did we ever throw on 1st or 2nd down in the 2nd half. Coaches tied his hands. But even then his QB rating was high enough to qualify as a pro QB in the PFF ratings. What was JG's highest rating on the PFF this year?

I did not assume. The coach clearly stated that QB play was poor. Is KC a QB? And I wasn't crying merely bring up the question of What was the coach doing calling QB play poor when one of his QBs played a good game
