A toxic environment is putting it lightly. It doesn’t surprise me that JJ said what he said that got him temporarily kicked off the team, although he shouldn’t have done it. I won’t give details, but really everyone already knows the gist of it through some on here who have made mention of numerous things. Oh yeah, no coaching whatsoever...another thing everyone knows now. With actual coaching, we are starting to get a glimpse of the actual talent we have on this team. It’s amazing. I’m not saying we have Bama or Georgia talent, but we have talent to compete against everyone else, and maybe even them if we had more time to improve and develop.Cmon man. Give us some hints about what happened..
Defensively, Saturday will be a huge test for Pruitt's unit which has gotten better each week. In the secondary, Shawn Shamburger will start opposite Nigel Warrior if Abernathy can't go and Marquill Osborne will get an opportunity as the sixth defensive back ahead of Theo Jackson. It's pretty obvious in watching the little amounts of practice that we get to watch, the secondary is starting to really grasp the system. By no means are they mistake free, but to hear them ask questions and their communication with the coaches on the practice field, their understanding of things is definitely growing.
The secondary is also getting help from the defensive front who is finding a way to get to the quarterback. Tennessee has recorded seven of its 12 sacks the last three games.
With Daniel Bituli out for the first half, Will Ignot and Quarte Sapp will get those opportunities.
How much has the defense improved? From a year ago, a lot. Last season, Tennessee's defense allowed 251 yards rushing per game. This season, the defense is giving up just 152.7 yards on the ground per game. Saturday at Auburn, they gave up 87 yards rushing on the first two drives of the game and then just 39 for the rest of the afternoon.
seems the no where to go but up theory is being proven true lol.
i still don't know why Jordan gets the amount of toches he does.Tennessee Volunteers 2018 Statistics - Team and Player Stats - College Football - ESPN
Didn't even realize Madre London is averaging almost two more yards a carry than Tim Jordan.
In fact, if you take away Jordans 20 carry, 118 yard game vs WVU.... hes only averaging 2.96 yards per carry
That's my coach...For those of you who didn't see this posted in the FF, it is an awesome article on Jeremy Pruitt:

I have zero expectations but I am going to support my coach. He is most certainly not going into the game hoping we don't get embarrassed. He's not going to tell the players let's take it easy and just get out of here alive. He is going to coach to win and will have the team thinking they have a shot. Whenever you start playing scared is when you start getting hurt.

in all seriousness, we'll need that rush defense to continue the rest of the way. not that we were good at it before, but it seemed the 2nd half of both of the last two years, is when we really opened the flood gates for opposing runners.
it's also visibly noticeable the difference in how the defense plays this year. stil make mistakes, yes, but they seem more physical and aggressive at the point of attack. and play diagnosis seems to be a lot better as well.
agree 100%. that and the play where WArrior blew up the screen pass, made a solid solo open field tackle. didn't dance, didn't wait to see what woul dhappen. ran thru the guy and put him on the ground like you're supposed to.When I saw the entire d line read the screen pass against Auburn and blow it up it made me smile. I can't remember the last time we had a defensive line not go gangbusters past the oline to the qb only to have the screen pass go for 20 yards.
